small passive income while browsing the web

Introduction
If you were on the internet in the late 1990s, you might remember companies like "AllAdvantage" that promised to pay you to browse the web. You could install a program that tracked your browsing and showed you targeted ads at the top of the screen, then "AllAdvantage" would give you a cut of the ad revenue you generated.
These schemes largely disappeared after the dot-com crash. But Brendan Eich, the creator of the JavaScript programming language and cofounder and former CTO of Mozilla, thinks his company Brave Software has found a way to revive that old idea.
What is it?
Brave makes a browser based on Google Chrome that blocks tracking scripts and other technologies that spy on your online activity. As a result, it also blocks many web ads; if you visit any website using the Brave browser, you won’t see any ads. But Brave will give users the option to see ads that Eich says will respect your privacy. The ads will appear as desktop notifications, he says, not as replacements for the ads the Brave browser blocks. So you still won’t see ads on any website, but you might see them on the right lower corner of your screen. If you choose to see these ads, you’ll get 70 percent of the revenue they generate.
Eich hopes Brave can solve two of the web's most vexing problems the privacy and revenue problem by turning the traditional digital advertising model on its head. Today, ad networks pay sites for ad space and web browsers like Brave and Chrome deliver content from those publishers to users. Brave is trying to put the browser in the center of the advertising experience. Instead of paying publishers directly, ad networks would pay Brave, which will pass part of the money to users and keep a cut for itself.
By handling advertising in the browser on your device, Brave says it will be able to target ads without sending your data to the cloud, and protect your privacy. When you interact with an ad on Brave, the browser sends notice to the company's servers, but doesn't include any identifying information. Eich sees four sets of winners: browser makers get paid; users get paid, and get more privacy; advertisers can target pitches without running afoul of European privacy regulations; and publishers can survive in a world where many users are installing ad blockers.
Publishers and ad networks might bristle at the idea of putting browser makers in the middle of their business. But in recent years browsers have taken a more active role in shaping the web, instead of merely displaying a website’s content. Chrome now blocks ads on a small number of sites with particularly egregious advertising practices, while browsers like Firefox and Safari have added privacy protections. Meanwhile, browser plugins are giving users more control over their experience. There are Chrome extensions, for example, that let you change Facebook's color scheme, or change the way images are displayed on Pinterest. And of course there are extensions that block all ads.
Trying to win advertisers and publishers to a new model isn't Brave's only challenge. It also needs users. Eich says Brave has 15 million users and is growing.
Brave will give users a 70 percent cut of its advertising revenue, which Eich estimates could work out to about $10 a month. Brave will pay users with its own bitcoin-style "cryptocurrency” called Basic Attention Tokens or BAT, which has traded for as little as 24 cents over the past 12 months, according to CoinMarketCap. You can exchange the BAT you have received for viewing ads into USD, EUR, GBP, CHF and many more currencies.
The company offers a service through the cryptocurrency exchange Uphold to allow users to change, sell and buy BAT or donate it to publishers, and for publishers to exchange the BAT they receive for dollars. Advertisers like HomeDepot or recent campaigns included brands such as Verizon, Newegg, Chipotle, and PayPal/Honey, in addition to earlier campaigns by Amazon, Harry’s Razors, Intel, CBS, KIND snacks, Logitech, Lenovo, Grubhub, Belkin, Quickbooks, Evernote and some of cryptocurrency related companies, will be able to buy ads either with BAT or with traditional currencies.
Eich says Brave opted to create its own tokens using the Ethereum cryptocurrency platform in part to avoid regulatory requirements, such as verifying users' identifies, that partners like Uphold are better equipped to handle.
Estimated revenue? (depending on the country you live in the revenue can be higher or lower)
I made around 3oo$ so far this year using 3 devices, just for viewing some ads.
5 months so far july is not included if you calculate it down for 1 device, 100$/5months = 20$ a month just for viewing ads, you would need to buy risky stocks worth of 2000$ to get the same amount per month.
can only recommend everyone to try it, not every country has the same number of advertisers so you probably get the most out of it when you live in the USA.
If you are interested here is a quick guide how to set it up to get the max amount out of Brave:
Quickstartguide:
1 Download brave here
2 Activate the reward system (gif link below)Gif link
3 go into the settings an deactivate auto contribution and activate 5 ads per hour (image link below)image link
4 Create an Account on Uphold and connect it with your BraveBrowser.
Now you are good to go and can make some money on something you do anyway.
I hope this helps some folks in the community to make some extra bucks.

[ANN][ANDROID MINING][AIRDROP] NewEnglandcoin: Scrypt RandomSpike

New England
New England 6 States Songs: https://www.reddit.com/newengland/comments/er8wxd/new_england_6_states_songs/
NewEnglandcoin
Symbol: NENG
NewEnglandcoin is a clone of Bitcoin using scrypt as a proof-of-work algorithm with enhanced features to protect against 51% attack and decentralize on mining to allow diversified mining rigs across CPUs, GPUs, ASICs and Android phones.
Mining Algorithm: Scrypt with RandomSpike. RandomSpike is 3rd generation of Dynamic Difficulty (DynDiff) algorithm on top of scrypt.
1 minute block targets base difficulty reset: every 1440 blocks subsidy halves in 2.1m blocks (~ 2 to 4 years) 84,000,000,000 total maximum NENG 20000 NENG per block Pre-mine: 1% - reserved for dev fund ICO: None RPCPort: 6376 Port: 6377
NewEnglandcoin has dogecoin like supply at 84 billion maximum NENG. This huge supply insures that NENG is suitable for retail transactions and daily use. The inflation schedule of NengEnglandcoin is actually identical to that of Litecoin. Bitcoin and Litecoin are already proven to be great long term store of value. The Litecoin-like NENG inflation schedule will make NewEnglandcoin ideal for long term investment appreciation as the supply is limited and capped at a fixed number
Bitcoin Fork - Suitable for Home Hobbyists
NewEnglandcoin core wallet continues to maintain version tag of "Satoshi v0.8.7.5" because NewEnglandcoin is very much an exact clone of bitcoin plus some mining feature changes with DynDiff algorithm. NewEnglandcoin is very suitable as lite version of bitcoin for educational purpose on desktop mining, full node running and bitcoin programming using bitcoin-json APIs.
The NewEnglandcoin (NENG) mining algorithm original upgrade ideas were mainly designed for decentralization of mining rigs on scrypt, which is same algo as litecoin/dogecoin. The way it is going now is that NENG is very suitable for bitcoin/litecoin/dogecoin hobbyists who can not , will not spend huge money to run noisy ASIC/GPU mining equipments, but still want to mine NENG at home with quiet simple CPU/GPU or with a cheap ASIC like FutureBit Moonlander 2 USB or Apollo pod on solo mining setup to obtain very decent profitable results. NENG allows bitcoin litecoin hobbyists to experience full node running, solo mining, CPU/GPU/ASIC for a fun experience at home at cheap cost without breaking bank on equipment or electricity.

CPU Minable Coin Because of dynamic difficulty algorithm on top of scrypt, NewEnglandcoin is CPU Minable. Users can easily set up full node for mining at Home PC or Mac using our dedicated cheetah software.
Research on the first forked 50 blocks on v1.2.0 core confirmed that ASIC/GPU miners mined 66% of 50 blocks, CPU miners mined the remaining 34%.
NENG v1.4.0 release enabled CPU mining inside android phones.

Decentralization and Community Driven NewEnglandcoin is a decentralized coin just like bitcoin. There is no boss on NewEnglandcoin. Nobody nor the dev owns NENG.
We know a coin is worth nothing if there is no backing from community. Therefore, we as dev do not intend to make decision on this coin solely by ourselves. It is our expectation that NewEnglandcoin community will make majority of decisions on direction of this coin from now on. We as dev merely view our-self as coin creater and technical support of this coin while providing NENG a permanent home at ShorelineCrypto Exchange.

ASIC/GPU Mining Pools Warning to Big ASIC Miners Due to DynDiff Algo on top of Scrypt, solo mining is recommended for ASIC/GPU miners. Further more, even for mining pools, small mining pool will generate better performance than big NENG mining pool because of new algo v1.2.x post hard fork.
The set up configuration of NENG for scrypt pool mining is same as a typical normal scrypt coin. In other word, DynDiff on Scrypt algo is backward compatible with Scrypt algo. Because ASIC/GPU miners rely on CPU miners for smooth blockchain movement, checkout bottom of "Latest News" section for A WARNING to All ASIC miners before you decide to dump big ASIC hash rate into NENG mining.
(1) Original DynDiff Warning: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5027091.msg48324708#msg48324708 (2) New Warning on RandomSpike Spike difficulty (244k) introduced in RandomSpike served as roadblocks to instant mining and provide security against 51% attack risk. However, this spike difficulty like a roadblock that makes big ASIC mining less profitable. In case of spike block to be mined, the spike difficulty immediately serve as base difficulty, which will block GPU/ASIC miners effectively and leave CPU cheetah solo miners dominating mining almost 100% until next base difficulty reset.

Tron v11.1.1 (2020-05-25) // Fix -pmb switch behavior; remove deprecated telemetry-removal tasks; prevent CCleaner from wiping Taskbar Jump Lists

Background

Tron is a script that "fights for the User."
It aims to automate ~87% of the tedious work in getting a badly-running Windows system back on its feet (clicking "next" in a/v scan windows, etc); with much left to the discretion of the tech.
It is built with heavy reliance on community input and updated regularly.
It is NOT a system optimization or "baseline" script.
Read the instructions.

Sequence of operation

Prep > Tempclean > De-bloat > Disinfect > Repair > Patch > Optimize > Wrap-up | Manual tools
Saves a log to C:\logs\tron\tron.log (configurable).

Changelog

(significant changes in bold; full changelog on Github)
v11.0.1 (2020-03-31)
* Minor definition updates for sub-tools and A/V engines
v11.0.0 (2020-02-05)
+ Add switch REMOVE_MALWAREBYTES (-rmb) to have Tron automatically uninstall Malwarebytes at the end of the run
+ Add switch SKIP_COOKIE_CLEANUP (-scc) to have Tron preserve ALL browser cookies. This is NOT generally recommended as Tron now automatically preserves the most common login cookies (chase.com, spotify.com, gmail.com, etc) and wiping other tracking cookies is still good for user privacy and security. You can see the list of cookies Tron preserves in this file. Thanks to tbr:sebastian.
- Remove BleachBit. This is despite the fact that I prefer BleachBit over CCleaner. Reason 1) It performs the same function as CCleaner. Reason 2) It doesn't support excluding certain cookie domains from wiping (the main reason). Once BleachBit supports cookie whitelisting, we will switch over to it exclusively and remove CCleaner from Tron
* Stage 1: Temp file cleanup: Streamline user profile cleanup code, removing a redundant code block
! Stage 5: Patch: Suppress Windows Defender update output unless running in verbose mode
* Update all sub-tools and definition files

In my next newsletter I plan to highlight Ren. Anything I should add or remove?

Hey guys I'm the author of a short weekly newsletter called The Weekly Coin where I highlight high potential lower cap projects. Next week I plan to highlight Ren. I want to consult the community to see if I missed out or should add any details.
(If you're interested you can check out The Weekly Coin here, but no pressure at all.)
Here is the newsletter.

Remember when smart phones had different operating systems? I’m talking about early cell phone days, the days of the flip phone. The Motorola Razr V3, Sony Ericsson K300, and Samsung SGH-D500 all had its their own proprietary OS. It was all a jumbled mess. The cell phone industry couldn’t move together as one.
Nowadays there is much less variety to contend with. Operating systems have dwindled down to mainly just iOS and Android and as a result cell phones have advanced greatly.
Blockchains today operate just like the operating systems of those ancient dark times. Ethereum has no clue Bitcoin exist, Bitcoin has no clue ZCash exists and vice versa. The communication between blockchain networks is called interoperability and Ren is doing just that.
Ren is…
"The first and only open protocol that provides access to inter-blockchain liquidity for all decentralized applications. Bringing BTC, BCH and ZEC to your Ethereum dApp." (renproject.io)
Along with interoperablity Ren focuses heavily on privacy for true decentralization.
"Trustless privacy and interoperability are absolutely necessary for achieving truly decentralized applications that are secure, usable, and liquid." (docs.renproject.io/ren)
Overview
- CoinMarketCap Rank: 82
- Current Price: $0.026782
- Market Cap: $52,693,330
- Max Supply: 1,000,000,000 REN
- Where to buy REN: Binance, Huobi, Kyber Network, Uniswap
- Development Frequency: On Github the Ren organization has a number of active repositories that help developers integrate Ren into their own dApps even providing a TypeScript example as well as documentation on getting started. As a developer this is a beauty to see.
Ren has been making great strides recently in inter-blockchain liquidity by recently announcing The Ren Alliance.
"The Ren Alliance is a consortium of DeFi companies and/or projects that are helping secure, develop, and utilize RenVM." (Introducing the Ren Alliance)
Ren is putting in work and a lot of it. There needs to be a standardized way of communication so this space can move together more concurrently or at the very least pool resources together. I think Ren is definitely a coin you should take a look at.

Let me know what you think!

A REVIEW ON LEASEHOLD DECENTRALIZED PLATFORM

A REVIEW ON LEASEHOLD DECENTRALIZED PLATFORM

INTRODUCTION
In the world today, there are many upcoming blockchain projects with great potentials, each aiming to bring a change to what we know and see in different systems be it in the healthcare industry, financial industry and so on. It is worthy to know that blockchain technology has contributed a lot to the development of many projects owing to its features such as decentralization, tokenization, use of smart contracts etc. Also, in addition to being based on blockchain, many platforms have different consensus algorithms which are believed by the team to help them in achieving their aim. With this being said, there is a blockchain platform known as LEASEHOLD, which aims to bring a change in the property industry.
https://preview.redd.it/a55t1e0drrt41.jpg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4ba13f6477ad66c90a2855688e63d60ddb30531d
A REVIEW ON LEASEHOLD PLATFORM
A review helps many potential investors have a feel or glance of what a particular project or platform is all about, before proceeding to read further via the project's whitepaper etc.
  1. The first and foremost thing to know about Leasehold platform is that it is decentralized that is to say, it is based on blockchain. Leasehold is also a profit-sharing business or platform with the sole purpose of sharing rental income via tokenization brought about by blockchain. In the same way, it is good to know that, the Leasehold platform aims to be a valuable one and to achieve this, sees it fit to ensure their token holders are always comfortable hence the idea of rewards being in the form of buy-back and burn; with this strategy, the Leasehold platform take the acquired profits, buys back its tokens from the market and burn them. In other ways, Leasehold token is a Deflationary token which will continue to be bought and burnt as the platform ensures strict growth policies are followed.
  2. Like earlier stated, there are many blockchain projects with different consensus algorithms such as Proof-of-Stake, Proof-of-Work etc, in the case of Leasehold, it will be based on Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPOS). This DPOS is of the idea that delegates within the platform can create blocks, these delegates are trusted and as such selected to be active within the platform in addition to the fact they secure the chain while getting their rewards which is strictly based on a good performance.
  3. In the blockchain space today, there is a known issue with most platforms and that is the issue of slow transactions etc, thus to stand out from this, the Leasehold team ensured the platform is written in JavaScript, through this way, allowing for fast processing of all functions and services such as transactions, payments and accounting. Also, to ensure efficient services, the Leasehold platform was forked from Lisk, the aim of this is to run as the first Lisk Side-chain through this way having its own Decentralized Exchange (DEX) thereafter.
  4. Talking about a decentralized exchange, it offers more security because, in the crypto space, there are many exchanges that have been hacked, exit scam with funds as well as closing accounts without reason. Therefore, Leasehold will sure have its own because the team wants to offer a secure, safe, trustworthy and reliable platform for trading of LSH tokens. When trading in Leasehold platform's DEX, there will be no malicious acts but instead a good level of trust and transparency.
  5. Another point as to why Leasehold is worthwhile is the fact that it makes it possible for users to partake in profit-sharing without owning properties physically, nor is there a need to identify themselves. In view of this, Leasehold is working towards taking huge advantages of the tourist industry, everyday living industry etc since it has been proven that booking platforms grow with more than double the users from the previous years. With this move, as a user, there is an opportunity to profit by owning the property, while with Leasehold, everything is simplified leading to owning a portion of profits.
  6. Another wonderful attribute of Leasehold platform is that token holders are carried along in the development of the platform, in this case, they are always presented with updated happenings which includes buy-back details, acquisition of properties etc.
  7. Since security is paramount in Leasehold platform, the team created a hub, which will make it possible for token holders to securely store their tokens in their wallet. This wallet is connected directly to the Leasehold network.
  8. There are many projects already in the crypto space which supports mining and same is the case with Leasehold. Leasehold will have a real-time data pool bearing all the financials of the platform's earnings. It will also display a list of the current buy-back funds which will be used for buy-back and burn purposes.
  9. Currently, many people in the world are limited when it comes to using of cryptocurrencies and this is where tokenization comes to play; that is, with tokenization, many people in the world will be free and able to buy crypto easily. With this in mind, in the Leasehold platform is tokenization as well, with tokenization of LSH tokens, people from all over the world will be able to take part in profit-sharing from the Leasehold short term rental markets. This is profitable because a study has shown that, short term rental markets are now booming all over the world because there is no need putting up large amounts of capital at once, which many individuals do not have or have access to.
  10. There are two methods of property rental in Leasehold platform which is developed to accommodate different types of users; a. Property rental of non-owned apartments: This is a method where the Leasehold team will accept the responsibility of running apartments for homeowners which will be at an agreed amount. In this case, the team will use their marketing strategies and booking system methods to ensure the best of services is offered to homeowners while on the other hand, this will also help Leasehold to acquire constant funding for its buybacks. b. Property rental of owned properties: In this method, the Leasehold team will strive to achieve the maximum amount of returns since all profits will belong to the company at the same time distributed to the buybacks. Furthermore, from the profits made, Leasehold will continue buying property on the open market while renting it out using its specially designed cross-platform method.
  11. Just like there are blockchain platforms which sought for funding before continuing building their platform, same is with Leasehold. The team will carry out 5 stages of ITO’s with the aim of raising enough funding so as to acquire small apartments thus starting the renting process and partner site setups. According to the team, the reason for these stages of ITO is that each stage will allow the Leasehold platform to acquire and set up the working business model that will make the buy-back and burn process possible. The end result of this is, Leasehold will be in a position to be free from cryptocurrencies volatility as well as being far bear markets. Leasehold Initial Token Offering (ITO) has started already and stipulated to end by May 2020. Read more on (ITO). (It is wise to make your own research before investing or participating in any token sale.)

WHY LEASEHOLD IS WORTHY OF ATTENTION
a. The Leasehold team aims for success thus setting strict growth policies which will make it possible for the platform to always acquire more and more property in its life cycle.
b. By allowing ownership of profits to take place in the property rental industry, Leasehold succeeds in bringing liquidity. To make it more interesting, people can buy and sell the rights to profits without having to pay the unnecessary charges of Deed registration and property acquisition.
c. In the world today, the cryptocurrencies are gaining more attention which is seen in Airbnb now accepting Bitcoin, with this in mind, the Leasehold team believes that more platforms are likely to follow hence creating its very own booking system within the ecosystem that will allow users to book holidays with LSH token.
d. Leasehold platform is all about success and growth and with this in mind, the team has already 4 signed contracts for 4 separate apartments which started this month (April 15th). Not only that, but the team is also on the verge of signing more as time goes by.
e. Leasehold has many partners including; i. Booking.com. ii. Airbnb. iii. NightsBridge. iv. HouseME. v. HomeAway. vi. Bookme. vii. Airdna. Read more on partners.
f. For security sakes, and in order to stand out as well, Leasehold created its own wallet which is available and active on different operating systems such as Windows, Mac etc. Steps; i. Download your desired Leasehold Wallet application from the link. ii. Install. iii. Use the option "Create an account" to create an account. Most importantly, remember to save the passphrase, which will enable you as the owner to be able to access the wallet in the future. iv. Login to have a feel of what the wallet looks like.
g. Leasehold token has the ticker LSH, it was forked from Lisk as well as being the first "Lisk Side-chain off Lisk" with a total supply of 100,000,000. Owing to what Leasehold token is backed by, the tokens will be appropriate for trading, holding and booking apartments in the near future. In the same way, to be transparent as regards its buybacks, the necessary information will be available to the public in the form of e-mail and website updates, through this way, users will be able to keep track of the entire platform's Income.
h. Hardly can anyone invest in what he won't profit from; in the case of Leasehold, the team will use the funds generated for property acquisition this means that there will be a strong profitable business built by the team. With this move by the Leasehold team, token holders will grow together with the platform while profiting as well.

The BSC Hard Fork of Bitcoin: An Overview

The BSC Hard Fork of Bitcoin: An Overview
Author: Hiro Midas

Background

Bitcoin is by far the most successful cryptocurrency. After ten years of development, the concept of Bitcoin as a community currency has gained widespread acceptance. With the participation of more and more miners, exchanges, developers, and ordinary users, the network effect of Bitcoin is strong and growing. According to the latest data from CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin Dominance accounts for 65.4% of the total market value of cryptocurrency, which is unmatched by any other blockchain project.
However, this huge network effect has not spawned more valuable applications on the Bitcoin network. This is mainly due to the non-Turing complete script of Bitcoin, which cannot support the implementation of complex logic. Although Bitcoin uses non-Turing-complete scripts for security reasons, this undoubtedly sacrifices more possibilities for the Bitcoin ecosystem and hinders the further expansion of its network effect.
Smart contracts are Turing complete and can be used to develop complex DApps. But even though Ethereum and other blockchain projects support smart contracts, the user base and network effects pale in comparison to Bitcoin.

BSC = Bitcoin Users + Smart Contracts

https://preview.redd.it/xmgdkzwx0oq41.jpg?width=1400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=63ab187873f9364779fe5a13506ad2a015c55d73
We propose BSC (Bitcoin Smart Contract) in the whitepaper https://docs.bsc.net/en/bsc_en.pdf BSC will be a hard fork of Bitcoin, inheriting all the transaction history of Bitcoin, and will support smart contracts with unlimited flexibility. With the original user base and network effects of Bitcoin, BSC will enable DApps with real value.
Bitcoin users + smart contracts are likely to bring the entire industry into a new phase. Applications in the original smart contract ecosystem will likely bring qualitative changes with the help of Bitcoin’s network effect:
BTC + Digital Assets. Bitcoin users and developers will be able to issue digital assets similar to ERC-20 on the BSC network. The Bitcoin network effect makes these assets potentially more useful and valuable.
BTC + DeFi. Similar to MakerDAO, decentralized lending and fund custody, stablecoins, etc. will be built on the user base of Bitcoin to gain greater scale and visibility with the leading crypto asset.
BTC + Privacy Protocol. Since Bitcoin assets account for a very high proportion in the entire industry, Bitcoin users’ need for privacy is even more urgent. A smart contract-based privacy protocol can be built in the BSC ecosystem, and Bitcoin users can use this to achieve asset privacy.
BTC + DApp. Bitcoin users can directly create various DApps in the BSC network, such as decentralized exchanges, decentralized games, and decentralized domain name services. These applications are not mainstream now, but given the huge network effect of Bitcoin, there will be more DApps that can prove their value.

Compatibility with Bitcoin Ecosystem

To provide the huge network effect of Bitcoin, BSC is technically compatible with Bitcoin in terms of the underlying architecture and network parameters:
The infrastructure layer of the BSC adopts the UTXO (Unspent Transaction Output) model that is completely consistent with Bitcoin, supports all script types of Bitcoin, and naturally supports SegWit, multi-sig, etc. Compared with the account model, the UTXO model has certain advantages in terms of security, anonymity, and parallelism, and supports SPV (Simple Payment Verification), which makes it easier to support light wallets.
Due to the consistency of the underlying architecture, BSC is naturally compatible with the Bitcoin ecosystem. For example, all types of Bitcoin wallets, browsers, and Layer-2 protocols (such as the Lightning Network) can directly support BSC, and users have no limits.
Also, the upper limit of the total supply of BSC, the inflation rate, and the halving period are all consistent with Bitcoin. BSC will also inherit all the transaction history data of Bitcoin. Bitcoin users will obtain the equivalent BSC 1: 1. All subsequent BSC coins will be generated by PoW mining, and the development team will not have any pre-mining or pre-allocation of any coins.

Compatibility with Smart Contracts

Virtual machines are the execution environment of smart contracts. Based on maintaining the above compatibility with Bitcoin’s underlying infrastructure, BSC has achieved compatibility with EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) by adding additional scripts and intermediate layers, so that it can theoretically support all smart contracts in the Ethereum ecosystem. Popular applications in the Ethereum ecosystem, such as MakerDAO, AZTEC privacy protocol, decentralized stablecoins, etc., can be directly ported to the BSC network. Although these applications have received some attention on Ethereum, restrictions on the Ethereum network has significantly limited their further development. For example, decentralized lending, if you rely on the stability of Bitcoin assets and the participation of Bitcoin users, you will get more room for development.

Mining Algorithm and Reward

BSC uses the PoW consensus mechanism. Unlike Bitcoin, BSC uses the newer SHA-3 + Blake2b mining algorithm. Bitcoin’s computing power is mainly controlled by several large Bitcoin mining pools. If BSC used a PoW mining algorithm the same as Bitcoin or any mining algorithm that already has ASIC miners, there would be a good possibility for the network to suffer 51% attacks during the initial startup. To reduce the risk of attack and keep the network sufficiently decentralized, BSC uses the SHA-3 + Blake2b hash algorithm. This algorithm has been verified in projects such as Handshake, and currently, there is no ASIC miner available, which helps ensure the stable development of the BSC network.
As a BSC miner, in addition to the block rewards and transaction fees like Bitcoin, the block rewards will include the gas cost of smart contracts. Every halving of bitcoin brings significant challenges to miners. When the future bitcoin block reward is reduced to zero, whether transaction fees can support miners’ income is still unknown. The introduction of smart contracts will give BSC miners a source of additional revenue, further encourage miners to participate in mining, and protect the security of the network.

Community Governance

The BSC project is initiated by the developers from its community, and they no economic benefits. Therefore, the development of the BSC project must rely on a sufficient number of people to recognize its value. To verify interest, BSC will collect digital signatures from the Bitcoin community, and the project will not officially start until it receives signature support for more than 50,000 BTC, as shown on the official website (https://bsc.net/).
After the project was released on Bitcointalk https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5231921.0 , the BSC project gained more and more attention in the Bitcoin community, and the number of signatures collected is steadily increasing, proving that more and more Bitcoin holders have recognized the idea of Bitcoin Smart Contract. [DEVELOPMENT] Bitcoind IPV4 testnet port (18332) is failing to bind

[SOLVED] Thanks for everyone that have helped!

Hello everyone, this is a development problem that I'm currently having. Since the BTC Development sub is kind of inactive and I couldn't find any rule contraty to posting about BTC Development, I'll try my luck in here as I'm hopeless already. I've posted on BTC Stack Exchange but no answers also. Please, don't get me wrong, I'm trying to solve this problem for many days now, I've looked up everywhere for this.
I'm new to Bitcoin development and I'm currently having difficulties trying to make RPC calls from a Docker Container to a Bitcoin-Core daemon running in a SSH server. I suppose that the problem may be with Firewall or closed ports, but I also do not know much about Network settings.
I'm using nbobtc/bitcoind-php package to make the RPC calls with HTTP requests, and it is running in a Docker container. I'm sure the container is functional and is not the problem.
So here's what happening: when I run bitcoind in root user (but normal also won't work) in my SSH server, the IPV4 testnet port seems to be not opened. This message goes up when I run bitcoind:
Binding RPC on address 0.0.0.0 port 18332 failed.
Here's what my bitcoin.conf looks like (I want to use testnet in here). I'm using Bitcoin-Core "subversion": "Satoshi:0.17.1".
server=1 debug=net txindex=1 testnet=1 rpcuser=userb rpcpassword=test test.rpcport=18332 # I've already tried allowing the IP these 3 ways: # rpcallowip=192.168.xx.xx # My machine's IP # rpcallowip=172.19.x.x/xx # Docker's NBOBTC container IP # rpcallowip=0.0.0.0/0 # Allowing all IP datadir=/home/bitcoin-dev/.bitcoin debuglogfile=/home/bitcoin-dev/.bitcoin/debug.log
Here's what appears in debug.log right after I run Bitcoind:

After all that appears above, there are just "UpdateTip", "Requesting block", "received block" and "getdata" messages. (so the P2P port, 18333, works).

And here is when I netstat:

sudo netstat -nap|grep bitcoin|grep LISTEN
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:18333 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 31185/bitcoind tcp6 0 0 :::18332 :::* LISTEN 31185/bitcoind tcp6 0 0 :::18333 :::* LISTEN 31185/bitcoind
Thank you in advance!

PS: A few days ago I could make it work when running bitcoind with root user, but now even that won't solve the problem.

MiningPoolHub/AwesomeMiner/MultiMinningPool FAQ

Hello everyone,
As some of you have probably noticed I have been taking the time to try my best to help some of you answer some questions.

However there has been a lot of repeat questions lately so hopefully this will help. I will continue to update this as we go, please check back if you have any questions as I will try to update this frequently

If you have a question you do not see covered please feel free to comment and I'll add it and try to answer it. I have added a unresolved to the beginning of this FAQ. I will number them below. Please comment below with the answer, to help me identify which question you are answering please add. UR#(x) to your comment as well, with x being the number of the unresolved question.

Before we start I will get my disclaimer out of the way.
I do not work with/for any of the developers of these programs. I do not have all the answers. Some of these are my best guess, others may be wrong or may have a better solution than the one I give. Please feel free to correct me if this is the case and I will edit as we go.

Set-up
We have two text guides here by waffleflops one for awesome miner and one for multi mining pool.
We also have a YouTube video guide by razorseal

YouTube Video Guide: Here
Awesome Miner(AM): Text Tutorial
MultiPoolMiner(MPM): Text Tutorial

So which one should I use?
It seems like it depends on what you want from the program, Awesome Miner is more like Nicehash in the way it looks but can be a little more complicated. MPM is pretty simple but it has less customization for those not familiar with programming.

NX18: "I find MPM to be better. No stability issues, no funky windows service always running in the background, and it checks MPH for best coin to mine whereas AM checks whattomine.com and they differ significantly sometimes."

MPM also has a minimum dev fee of 10 minutes per day (even if you set donate to 0) whereas AM does not seem to have dev fees. Both I believe have fees included that go to the devs of the miner programs themselves. However these fees for the miner devs will be attached whether you use MPM/AM or solo miner with the miner dev programs anyway.

Unresolved Questions

1. Anyone have solutions on crashing or very low Hashrates in sgminers with AMD GPU's in Awesome Miner?
2. Why is Lyra2Z using only 40% power from my GPU (GTX980ti)? Where/how can it tweak the settings?
I believe this is having to do with Awesome Miner 3.I did not see it asked or posted but I am curious if there's a way to bench all gpus. Instead of selecting gpu 0 and benching, waiting until its done and moving on to gpu 1 and so on. I have 8 nvidia gpus, just wondering if there's a way to auto bench all of them in a row so I can walk away and go to bed, be done I'm the middle of the night.

General MPH Questions

1.Hashrate is not the same on my miner as it is on the dashboard?
From MPH: "Hashrate showing on site is just an estimated value. Pool doesn't know about miner very much. It just collects certain "shares" which is some piece of hash that satisfies certain conditions. So don't worry, it's all about probability thing. Your hashrate on site can go up and down time to time."
There is some luck involved when mining in pools it is like playing the lottery. NiceHash paid at a certain rate because you were not mining coins and getting paid you were getting paid for the hash you are providing.

2. Balances on MPH what are the brackets?
The brackets are coins that have not yet been confirmed enough times on the blockchain. Any coins not in brackets have been confirmed.

3. How long will it take for my coins to show up, transfer to and from the exchange, be credited to my auto exchange coin?

I have been seeing a lot of questions about this so I made a flowchart which you can view Here

Short Answer: It depends could be minutes could be days
Long Answer: It has to be exchanged first and then placed in auto-exchange balance balance.
So you mine coin
Coin credited but unconfirmed (this can take time depending on coin)
Coin is confirmed and credited for auto exchange.
Coin is then placed on exchange. So again has to be transferred and again has to be confirmed but on exchange side.
Coin is most likely converted into btc then into auto-exchange coin at exchange.
Then auto-exchange coin is sent back to your balance on mph. So again has to be confirmed before appearing.
Depending on how fast a coin is confirmed will depend on how fast it appears in your balance.
If you stopped mining today it your balance most likely continue to grow over time.
However if you continue to mine it should in theory catch up and you will see you balance grow at a semi if not expected rate.

Supplemental:Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding, but this should mean it changes column, not disappears from balance entirely, no?
You will not know exact balance until it is sent back over from the exchange. This is because of the fact that you are exchanging the coins against one another. If one coin is up and one is down you could be losing or gaining value depending on the situation. This is why it seems that coins on the exchange disappear without your auto-exchange coins balance going up right away. Reference question 8 for more info

4. What is the best coin to auto-exchange?
This depends, just remember BTC has high transaction fees and can take some time to confirm. You will want to have a good amount of BTC before moving to your wallet to minimize the amount you lose to transaction fees.
I personally use LTC, it is quick and transaction fees are low compared to BTC but can still be exchanged for fiat on coinbase.
At the time of writing this, if you move BTC from MPH you will be charged a $4.96 fee, if you move LTC the fee to move to your wallet is $0.19

5. Can I hold on to certain coins instead of auto-exchanging them?
Yes, just go to auto exchange on MPH and switch off the coin you do not want to auto exchange.

6. This dashboard sucks! Why do they not have a one page dashboard?
Good news it is in the works, improvements are on the way so no need to keep posting about it!

7. Why is my coin not being exchanged?
Two possible reasons A)On balances page it says "coins that don't have enough volume on exchange for a certain amount of time will not be auto exchanged to desired coin. These coins may be sent back as original coin or btc."
B)On auto-exchange page. Mph accumulates coins so that they can be efficiently converted at the exchange. If a coins pool has not mined a certain amount it will not be sent over until it reaches the set number. It seems like it is transferred over to the exchange as one large amount instead of small amounts.

8. AwesomeMiner said I was going to make $X.XX dollars and when auto-exchange coins came in I made less than it said!
Couple things, do not take to heart the exact number it gives you. It is not exact remember it is like a lottery.
Remember your coins at first will trickle in over time but the longer you mine it will begin to average out.
Remember you are exchanging coins for you auto-exchange coin this means if there is a decrease or increase between them you could gain more or less.
Example if you mine VTC and auto-exchange into LTC.
You send VTC to auto-exchange it will most likely be converted into BTC first. If BTC is having a good day that day and has increased in price by 30% and VTC has not grown well that day you will be trading your VTC at a loss.
Then this same situation will happen again when converting the BTC to LTC.
So again a bit of a lottery you may gain or lose some of your mined coins value depending on the exchange rate between the coins at the time.

9. Add more Cryptonight coins please.
They are apparently working on adding new coins like Electroneum.

10. Why can't I auto-exchange BTC?
My theory is that it is because BTC is not mined on MPH, remember the coins are sent to the exchange when they hit a certain amount in order to make it efficient. Because BTC is not mined on MPH it would not be efficient to exchange BTC to other coins once it has been credited to your account.

11. Do I need a wallet for each coin I mine? How do I set-up a wallet?
No, only the coin(s) you want to get paid in. Click on coins pool on MPH and you will see a wallet option Add the correct address for each coin you want to be paid in, note you cannot use another coins address or you risk losing your coins. For example you should not put your Bitcoin address into your Litecoin wallet address section.

12. My wallet address keeps on changing, do I need to keep updating my wallet address?
Take from Coinbase: This is done to protect your privacy, so that a third-party can not view all other transactions associated with your account simply by using a blockchain explorer to look-up an address they know to be yours.
All addresses that have been generated for your account will remain associated with your account forever. They are safe to re-use to receive future payments, but for the prior stated reasons, we recommend using a unique address for all transactions.

13.Is there a easy way I can track my Profits/Hashrate/Workers?
Yes credit to JaymZZZ Click Here

14. I click on manage wallet from the balances menu and enter my account number, I get the error saying Failed to update your account: Invalid coin address.
Make sure you are adding the address to the correct coin. A bitcoin address for example should only be added to the bitcoin wallet, it should not be added to any other wallet. (Reference question 11)

15. Is there a fee for auto-exchange?
Yes 0.2%

Awesome Miner

1. I do not want to mine that algo, I turn it off but it still mines it!
Go to online services, edit, change profit switching from yes to no

2. Why is it mining something less profitable?
Make sure you go to tools and then benchmark Make sure you right click and save hashrate occasionally it will improve your profit switching over time.

3. I can't get the miner to run?
Did you exclude it from anti-virus?
You may need to reinstall.
Uninstall
then in search bar type in %localappdata%\awesomeminer (delete this folder)
Type in %appdata% go to awesome miner folder and delete this one as well
Reinstall awesomeminer
Do not run aweseomminer
Go to anti-virus and exclude all folders with awesomeminer (including the ones in the local and appdata folders)

4. How do i delete a Miner?

5. Can I do anything to make improvements?
puch0021:You can use VertMiner (which is what is used by OCM) to increase your hash rate compared to AwesomeMiner's default CCminer. You have to choose it for Lyra instead of CC miner. See: http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/managedsoftware.aspx Download Vertminer and extract software. Go to awesomeminer's options -> managed software -> add new user defined mining software: Type in VertMiner for description, full compatibility mode, and compatible software as CCminer. Everything in the algorithm should be disabled expect Lyra2ReV2 which should be enabled. Double click in under defined command line argument and add lyra2v2 as text. Click ok. Go to profit profiles in awesome miner. Select nvidia GPU and edit. In the mining software list there should be a new VertMiner entry. Check this box to enable it. Then click configure and then under path click browse. Click local. Select the Vertminer folder you previously made. Now whenever lyra is called for, vertminer should be used. If you try to bench mark with this enabled, it will fail but it works for mining. You can then use your mining results to manually edit your profit profile value for Lyra2REv2 (that was otherwise has the old value for ccminer.) On my 1060 it went from 21 to 22.8. Keep in mind vertminer takes 2% dev fees but it still works out to be faster than cc miner. let me know if this was any help!
I used one click miners vertminer since it was already installed.

6. Whenever Awesome Miner starts on a new algo and opens new instances of the CLI miner application/s, the window steal the focus from whatever you're doing. Anyone else super annoyed by this? Anyone know of a way to prevent this?
Stop mining, click more, properties, environment, console window mode, hide window, start mining again.

MultiPoolMiner (MPM)

1. I see a yellow stripe wich says multipoolminer is between 7% and 17% more profitable, which is nice. under this strip I see 2 lines with miner, BTC and Euro. (in my case) which of those btc values end up on your miningpoolhub balance? or both?
NX18:" Neither. Those values are best guesses by that script, hence why beside the dollar figure it shows the +/- variance which sometimes is really high like 25%, meaning that scripts best guess could be wrong by that much"
It is showing the 2nd best, If it is not the best at the time it will not show that text and just give you the comparison.

2. It keeps say NiceHash API failed what should I do? You can ignore it or as chillfisch points out that you can just delete the nicehash folder to get rid of this warning.
