If you need help or you're New to roms and emulation these are some tips
First thing first You need an Emulator i suggest RetroArch is a Newbie Friendly good all in one emulator this is a video to how to setup and use ReTrOaRcH OpenEmu FOR MAC USERS THAT WILL NOT USE RETRO ARCH BECAUSE IT'S NOT ENOUGH LOOKING LIKE MAC UI OR THEY HAVE AN OCD OR something like that it's good anyways ( i didn't use it bc i'm not a mac user ) 🕿︎♋︎◻︎◻︎●︎♏︎ ◻︎❒︎□︎♎︎◆︎♍︎⧫︎⬧︎ ♋︎❒︎♏︎ □︎❖︎♏︎❒︎◻︎❒︎♓︎♍︎♏︎♎︎✆︎ and a download Manger Jdownloader ( download the jar version ) A photo to explain what to download (don't download the .exe version it has an adware in it ) or idm u can trial reset with this a torrent clients (credits to Piracy wiki)
Transmission - Simple and lightweight open-source torrent client
qBittorrent - Open-source torrent client. Has a built-in search feature that searches popular public trackers. Consistently updated
second you need sources to download roms these are the best sites + some tips sites : ziperto No intro romset ( you can download it directly without a torrent you CAN FROM HERE ) (If you don't want to download the whole romset for the system press view content ) AlvRo's Collection Vimm's Lair The Eye GamesTorrents ( of course if u can torrent ) MEGA-ROM N(itro)blog THE MEGATHREAD RomsUniverse MOBAsuite IDK?? A WIKI FOR ROMpacks????? The Old Megathread idk why u need it A guy who uploaded some roms but he didn't get attention ROMstorge ( idk how to use this site ) Roms WIKI Another ROMs site Edgeemu EmulatorGames ( the name is baaaaaaaad ) ROMsDownload WoW Roms cdROMance Startgame ( wtf is this name ) Retrostic ROMulation If u Want to Check if the site is safe go to here and comment ur site url Tips : Tip #1 : If you're in a country that hate piracy like USA or Germany ( i think Germany have dmca or something ?? idk ) etc. stay away from torrent and stay away from http sites ( download Https Everywhere extension and enable encrypt all sites eligible option by pressing on the icon of https everywhere ) even if your browser included with it . because it will warn you if the site is http... Tip #2 : FBI will not raid your house ( because fbi will not waste there time on you ) Tip #3 : https is your best friend because it's encrypted that means if you go to a https roms site your isp will see (random numbers and letters) .com/.net/.org/.to/.site etc. Tip #4 : install an adblock i suggest Ublock Origin Tip #5 : install a pop-up blocker if you have a chromium based browser like Brave, Chrome, New Edge etc. i suggest this ( if you know a better one please give me the link ) poperblocker Tip #6 The MegaThread is your OTHER BEST FRIEND if you want an rom head to the megathread and press ctrl + F and search ;) Tip #7 DON'T DO NOT OPEN ANY ANY ANY .MSI .EXE/.DMG/.DEB or ANY OTHER FILE THAT you CAN OPEN WITHOUT AN EMULATOR THE FILE IT'S 2000% A VIRUS ( EXCEPT WHEN you DOWNLOAD RETRO ARCH [ or any other emulator OF COURSE ] ) AND DON'T OPEN .BAT FILES IT CAN DELETE SYSTEM32 FILE AND IT'S ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FILES IN WINDOWS Tip #8 Emulating is Legal but Downloading ROMs is ILEGAL ( OF COURSE IF you're LIVING IN A COUNTRY THAT DMCA IS A HOLY THING ) ;-) Tip #9 If you're suspicious of a file u can scan it on VirusTotal or Hybird Analysis ( you need to upload the file because it will open it on a vm in there sever ). Tip #10 I recommend using a controller if you have a xbox controller just connect it to your pc and you're good to go BUT if you have a dualshock controller (ps controller ) use DS4 Windows ( if you have a windows pc ) ( I Know it's the fork bc the og creator stopped working on it in 2016 or somthing like that ) or any other controller . Tip #11 If you download a rom and it came in .rar .zip .7z .r001( if the rom came with multiple files like .r001 .r002 .r003... you need to extract just a one file) etc. you can use 7-ZIP or Winrar ( don't worry 40 days trial doesn't end ). Tip #12 if the rom came in this order rom.rar.exe don't think to open it and if you hide the extension file from showing from the file name it will show like rom.rar but it's actually a .exe or .dmg etc. Tip #13 if you have a linux pc or a mac that doesn't mean you will not get infected even Temple OS have malwares ( if you don't what's a malware is just search ). Tip #14 if u tired of link shorters and etc. use universal Bypass Tip #15 Some good emulators : Dolphin a wii and gamecube emulator ( check the compatibility list to check if the game work ) Citra 3DS emulator ( check the compatibility list to check if the game work ) BSNES HD beta if u want to play snes games on HD PCSX2 the best ps2 emulator EPSXE a little bit old but it's good (ps1) DON'T use zsnes ( i guy on the comments said that ) RPCS3 PS3 ( check the compatibility list to check if the game work ) Xenia Xbox 360 ( check the compatibility list to check if the game work ) Cemu WiiU Emulator ( check the compatibility list to check if the game work ) a Decryptor for 3ds games if citra won't open the rom HERE DS DeSmuME (OLD) ( if u have a good ds emulator give me the link pls ) Project64 N64 DOSBox DOS emulator ( check the compatibility list to check if the game work ) IF U HAVE any other emulator pls link it in the comments <3 Tip #16 Romsmania CoolRoms etc. are NOT SAFE if you have any other tips share it =)
If you believe a client is compromised, either by a Bitcoin miner, or that it’s a rat, or a backdoor, or a Trojan, etc. you should submit real evidence of such claims. You should upload the client executable or suspicious libraries to VirusTotal and give us the link, you should also submit actual evidence. I keep seeing “sigma is a rat” — I don’t use sigma, I use Impact, but it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. The ONLY “evidence” that anyone has brought to the table is “my CPU usage was high when it was open”. That’s literally it. If you’re going to claim something is bad, you should do it right and in such a way that there isn’t merely suspicion, but there is damning evidence. This way maybe the mods or I can make a master list of clients that can and cannot be trusted. I will start on this master list and call it the Checker Thread so it is easy to search for. I request the mods pin this list for easy access. This master list will contain hacked clients submitted by the community, their supported versions, VirusTotals, etc. to improve the search for clients and to guarantee user safety. “But what if my executable is different?” Each client in the list will have a hash, you will be able to check that hash against your client to verify it is the same executable, and therefore safe.
There have been many recent posts about the blackmail email scam, so I have written this post and will keep it stickied until the posts about the scam die down. Blackmail email scams have that name because they started as an email spam campaign, however there have also been reports of these scams being sent via SMS and physical mail. If you are reading this because you have received one of these emails and you are worried, you can stop worrying. The blackmail email scam is a spam campaign that is sent out to thousands of addresses at a time. The threats are lies and you do not have anything to worry about. In many cases, the emails will contain some sort of privileged information about you such as your name, part or all of your phone number, and your password. The emails may also look like they were sent from your own email address. The data is gathered from data breaches, and if the email looks like it came from your account that is due to email spoofing. You can use the service Have I Been Pwned? to see if you are in any publicly known data breaches. If you receive an email that contains a password that you currently use, you should immediately change that. Current recommended password guidelines say that you should use a different, complex password for every account. You can generate and save passwords using a password manager for convenience. You should also be using two factor authentication using an app like Google Authenticator instead of receiving codes through SMS. Here are some news articles about this scam. Here is a story from Brian Krebs, and here is a story from the New York Times. Below are a few examples, but if you receive an email that is similar but not the same as the examples you see, that does not matter and does not mean that the email is real. The spammers constantly switch up their templates in order to bypass spam filters, so it's normal to receive an email that hasn't yet been posted online.

You don't know me and you're thinking why you received this e mail, right? Well, I actually placed a malware on the porn website and guess what, you visited this web site to have fun (you know what I mean). While you were watching the video, your web browser acted as a RDP (Remote Desktop) and a keylogger which provided me access to your display screen and webcam. Right after that, my software gathered all your contacts from your Messenger, Facebook account, and email account. What exactly did I do? I made a split-screen video. First part recorded the video you were viewing (split-screen video), and next part recorded your webcam (Yep! It's you doing nasty things!). What should you do? Well, I believe, $1900 is a fair price for our little secret. You'll make the payment via Bitcoin to the below address (if you don't know this, search "how to buy bitcoin" in Google). BTC Address: x (It is cAsE sensitive, so copy and paste it) Important: You have 24 hours in order to make the payment. (I have an unique pixel within this email message, and right now I know that you have read this email). If I don't get the payment, I will send your video to all of your contacts including relatives, coworkers, and so forth. Nonetheless, if I do get paid, I will erase the video immidiately. If you want evidence, reply with "Yes!" and I will send your video recording to your 5 friends. This is a non-negotiable offer, so don't waste my time and yours by replying to this email. Bought a new 1 TB hdd for my Borderlands 3 which didnt fit on my 110 gb ssd. Had BL2 and windows on my ssd. After I downloaded BL3 I noticed the game ran like shit, so i downloaded razer cortex which somehow freed 1 ram. The game ran pretty good. After a few days I saw there was an Twitch event for the game so I downloaded the exstention or however you write that word. First day it was fine, second day twitch was buffering for no reason (wifi great on my phone and laptop, pc was on ethernet). Became a bit suspicious today, went to check Windows quick scan, it did not start. Opening Windows security was blank, and looking at protection history in settings just closes the entire window. So I downloaded Malwarebytes. 32 detected files for trojan. Hella lot of Bitcoin miners (amazing since my gpu was already on life support when I got it from my brother), quarantined those files and deleted it. Reset my Pc, tried to quick scan the pc, it was the same as before, nothing working as intended. So I resorted to wiping EVERYTHING from my pc, even the games that took 2 days to download each. So at this point my Windows is restaring entirely, assuimg it would be a long process, it wasnt. I was greeted with a reset failure. I dont know what to do. My blood is boiling. I swear I have 0 idea about PCs but i am seeing the worst possible shit on my PC and I dont download random things from the internet. I have 0 clue where I had gotten the trojan from. Most likely somebody coughed into my pc so it got sick. Things that might have brought the virus: 1. razer cortex (gave me a warning before downloading, nothing special, had it years before and it worked just fine)
tried to speed up my BL3 download since i had it on my laptop already (which doesnt have a virus - checked) and i put my network to public. maybe somehow with magic it got transferred? its not public anymore.
random cookies from the internet??
detection from canyourunit
BL3 exstention from twitch
I cant think of any other thing, i swear i didnt download some random shit because its simply not in my downloads. It could have been on my pc for a while, i dont know, but its scary. Im scared ill have to take my GPU to the ER. Jokes aside, how does one safely get rid of this shit? Also, do you think Razer Cortex is a suspicious program? I would not like to erase it due to it giving me 1 ram (have 8) and making my game run good.
Overly paranoid about malware, viruses and other nasty stuff
So, well... Will put it straight. I once downloaded like a cheat program for a game, mod menu, I did everything I can to check it for threats, scanned with virustotal, with avast, manually dived into my PC's processes with Process Monitor, and found nothing suspicious even after doing it all again after running the program itself, that, btw, didnt even work so I deleted it. But I'm still scared. Bitcoin miners. Remote acces trojans. Spyware. Unwanted programs. Malware and viruses. That's all I'm scared of. I even taped my webcam after downloading and deleting the program. I dived into scanning my computer again, searching for suspicious things in processes... But nothing. I'm still scared. Of some invisible malware or spyware, undetectable by anything, some ransom secretly encrypting my files while the computer is on and waiting for the right moment to pop up. Can somebody please calm me down? I really dont know what to do.
Here is an article by an author named Adnan about why Get Ticketing will explode: https://medium.com/@adnanzzz/the-bullish-case-of-get-protocol-451ad6059f2d Below is the same article copied and pasted for those who are too lazy to click the link. However, I recommend reading the article from the link instead as it has a lot of graphs, links, and pictures that gives a much fuller picture.
"GET protocol — the sleeping blockchain giant Bear with me as I try to explain why the GET token is currently the most bullish crypto token in the space. The price surge will be driven by adoption and not just mere speculation. And adoption is already there but will only now start to gain huge momentum! By the time you have read this blog you will come to see how most other crypto projects lose value in your eyes when you compare it to a project with amazing fundamentals, a project that doesn’t need an “altseason”, driven by mere mindless speculation, to give you nice returns! Most people in the crypto space have never heard of the GET protocol. This is on one side suprising because there are 191.329 wallet holders to be exact. This means that 191.329 people have used the GET protocol, mostly without even knowing it! The focus has always been on building a product that works and where there is demand for. Where other projects have focused and spent their funds on marketing in the crypto space (meaning luring in new investors) GET has neglected that part a bit. Instead they focused their funds on building a waterproof system and acquiring clients who will use the protocol (venues, artists, governments, …). The effect of this is that the price hasn’t been affected by speculation. The list of artists who use GET-fueled tickets is endless and I have honestly lost sight of everyone who uses it. But to give you an example of adoption, here is a list of some of the artists who sell GET-fueled tickets:
Amsterdam Dance Event
Youp Van ‘t Hek
What is the GET protocol and what does it do? The GET Protocol offers a blockchain-based smart ticketing solution that can be used by everybody who needs to issue admission tickets in an honest and transparent way. The goal of GET protocol is to become the worldwide ticketing standard. To put it in simple terms: the ticketing industry is plagued by dishonest players. Not only ticket fraud but also scalping are an enormous problem in the industry. Once a ticket sale starts bots buy up the tickets and later sell them for enormous profits. Fans are sidelined and are forced to buy tickets of their idols for a much higher price. The scalpers, not adding any value in the process, make tons of money at the expense of artists, fans, venues, event organizers, … and everybody who makes the event industry what it is.
This is where GET offers a solution proven to work The tickets issued on the GET protocol are registered on your phone. This means that only the person in possession of the phone also owns the ticket. Every ticket is unique and is based on a QR code that updates itself and rotates to prevent fraud and scalping. The tickets are all registered on the blockchain as a mean of transparency and accountability. This means that fans can check ticket authenticity whenever they want. This is also where the GET token comes in play but more on that later…
GET is currently the best adopted microcap This is a bold statement but it’s not difficult to prove. Whereas other crypto “companies” confuse their investors with a lot of technical words that the average Joe doesn’t even understand and show off with meaningless partnerships, GET is actually changing the ticketing world for the better! At the moment of writing there are 4 ticketing companies that are completely integrated in the GET protocol, and together have sold many GET-fueled tickets! These companies currently run on the GET protocol:
GUTS Runs fully on the GET protocol and has sold over 400.000 tickets.
ITIX Established in 2009 and sells 2 million tickets/year. Is fully integrated in the GET protocol and will start selling GET-fueled tickets soon.
getTicket A new ticketing company in South Korea that will run fully on the GET protocol.
TecTix A Germany based ticketing company that will sell GET fueled tickets with a focus on the sports industry.
Integrating an existing ticketing company is a low investment move (only the GET token is needed) that offers traditional ticketing companies several benefits. That is why I expect many ticketing companies to integrate and GET to scale quickly.
The supply Some people are scared by the big difference in the circulating supply and the total supply. This is an unneccessary fear. The GET supply is made up of 3 portions:
Circulating supply (13.5 million)
Stability Fund (12,6 million): these tokens can never enter the circulating supply. They are used to supply the ticketing companies with GET so they don’t have to buy them directly from the market. The stability fund then buys these supplied tokens from the market to fill itself up. As the protocol shifts to open source the stability fund (together with all the tokens it holds) will be destroyed forever.
User Growth Fund (7,24 million): these tokens are used for discounts to new clients. These tokens should also in principle not enter the circulating supply. Only for marketing purposes and possible exchange listing costs a small portion of these might be liquidated.
This means that the circulating supply as it is now can only, ever, lightly increase for the purpose of growth. With the buybacks and burns being large enough the circulating supply will instead keep decreasing at a swift tempo.
GET in times of COVID19 In May Dutch group Di-Rect sold thousands of tickets for an online concert. They used GET’s technology to use a dynamic price setting. This means that fans were given the option to pay whatever they wanted for a ticket. Whoever paid €20 or more had the chance to win a lottery and be present at the concert. Once the concert starts, whoever bought a ticket, will be able to watch the streamed concert on GUTS’ app. This is yet another proof of the advantages a digital ticket offers. As this was a big succes, the expectation is that more and more artists will make use of GET’s technology. On 27/05 Dennis van Aarssen, The Voice Of Holland 2019 winner, announced that he will also do a livestreamed performance of classic covers and original music on June 7th. All tickets will be issued through the GET protocol. GET also offers several advantages in different areas in the fights against COVID19. The right of access being linked to your mobile makes it possible for potential clients to monitor the number of visitors in real time all the time, to apply an automated seating selection which consideres an appropriate distance between all visitors, queue control, booking of timeslots for museums, shops, parks, beaches, … so overcrowding can be avoided. When an event gets cancelled, whereas with paper tickets it’s sometimes impossible to track who owns the ticket at the current time, with GET’s technology the event organizer can, with one click, choose to make a refund to the current ticket owner, to communicate with him, to postpone the event, …
What more to expect in the (near) future? There are so many amazing things to come in the very near future so I’ll only focus on a few of them:
Integration with Klaytn
GET-fueled tickets for K-pop
Top tier exchange listing
More focus on marketing in the crypto space
Staking & nodes
GET as an open-source protocol
Integration in Klaytn
Seeing the adoption the GET protocol has, the solution they bring and the enormous potential they have in conquering the ticketing industry, they have been asked by Kakao to join their blockchain “Klaytn”. So GET is an initial service partner of the Klaytn blockchain. “Kakao’s global public blockchain project Klaytn is an enterprise-grade, service-centric platform that brings user-friendly blockchain experience to millions.” The choice for choosing to be an Initial Service Provider of Klaytn is based on two aspects. The first aspect is the fact that Klaytn’s blockchain infrastructure is fully business and integration focused, more than any other blockchain in the market. This results in huge improvements in areas as cost-efficiency, scalability, and data reliability. The second aspect is fueled by the potential of being part of the Klaytn ecosystem. Kakao is a giant in South Korea. GET will bring its adoption to Kakao’s blockchain and Kakao, with its giant network, in return will open many doors in South Korea. A win-win for everyone involved! In 2017 Kakao had more than 220 millions users on their messaging and content platform. The last few years the company has been rapidly expanding in other industry verticals.
GET fueled tickets sold for K-pop stars As mentioned earlier: South Korean ticketing company getTicket will run fully on the GET protocol. They have already deals in line to sell tickets for K-pop stars in their country. K-pop legend Mr. Won-Kwan Jung, as someone who has a lot of connections in the K-pop world, has joined the GET protocol as an advisor. He is an iconic figure and innovator in the world of K-Pop, owing to the fact that he was one of the three original members of SoBangCha, (or ‘Firetruck’ in English) which is regarded as the first K-Pop group to exist in the world. In a survey conducted in 17 countries in 2019, around 37.5 percent of respondents stated that the genre K-pop was “very popular” in their country. The survey found that the popularity of K-pop reaches far beyond South Korean borders. The fact that their idols will be selling GET-fueled tickets hasn’t reached the Korean audience yet. It is still a “public secret”. The news will be released in a directed marketing campaign later this year. You better believe that once the Koreans find out that they’ll be buying GET like hot cupcakes!
Tickets for museums and beaches to be in line with COVID19 restriction measures With the Corona virus still not wiped out but more under control, many countries are lifting restrictions. This needs to be done in a safe and controlled manner. This means avoiding overcrowding. GET’s technology can and will surely help here. GET’s system can do all that is needed now for a safe experience. Whether it’s booking a timeslot for the beach, for a museum,… or even for a shop from your home. The system lets the client monitor everything in real time. Someone can that way for example choose to go when there is less crowd. This all while fully respecting the user’s privacy. The GET sales team has been busier than ever, being in contact with governments, museums, … and the dev team is constantly creating custom made smart ticketing solutions for new costumers. I’m sure we can expect some major announcements in this area soon!
Top tier exchange listings & marketing in the crypto space The team has confirmed that listing on a top tier exchange has already been agreed. They’re just waiting for the right time to announce it, fitting in their marketing campaign. Besides that, a fiat on ramp exchange will list GET in a short timeframe. Many projects invested most of their funds in exchange listings and fake volume, creating artifical demand. These exchange listings are almost always accompanied by paying for a market maker. Once the funds dry up (and we have seen this with many projects) delisting becomes a reality and the funds end up being spent in vain. GET’s exchange listing and marketing campaign aren’t a means to pump the price but have the goal of creating liquidity for the end users (mainly ticketing companies) who will need to acquire a lot of GET from the open market in the short future.
Expansion in several other countries GET’s business developer Sander: "I am reached out by ticketing parties all around the world on a daily basis. The main challenge is to vet these parties. The goal of GET Protocol is to be the worldwide standard of digital admission rights and to get there we need to stay extremely lean and flexible in order to scale well. In that sense we need to be 100% convinced the parties we partner up in this phase have a very high potential of becoming a big player in their respective geographies. From the onboardings we currently experience, we learn to speed up onboarding processes upcoming year." And when asked how many tickets he expects to be sold in the near future and how many ticketing companies he expects to run on the GET protocol in 5 years time: "Along the journey, we here at GET and GUTS learned quite a few things. One of them is avoiding to publicly announce ticket sale estimates as the chances are that we shoot ourselves in the foot with that. If we don’t meet our estimates, life sucks and the community will let us know which is fine and rightful, but to be honest for GET nothing to win. If we meet our goal, it is okay but even then some people members manage to say they hoped for even better. In that sense, whatever we do, we can’t do well enough on that front, so I am reluctant about giving specific numbers (and I don’t have a crystal sphere either!). That being said, regarding the amount of ticketing companies in 2025, I expect many, in many countries. It’s a matter of time that we can easier offer our products in a whitelabeled manner. Only this week we got requests for more information about our services from Germany, Paraguay, Mexico, UK and Italy and Australia. This certainly doesn’t always mean a ticketing company could lead out of such a request, but the interest is certainly there. If we keep on doing what we do now, I believe we can boost ticketeers and event organizers around the world pretty soon and let them issue fully digital and blockchain registered tickets, all processed by GET Protocol. If more ticketing companies are onboarded, the amount of ticket sales processed by the protocol will grow exponentially." Knowing how GET’s team has always been very careful with their promises, I take such statements very seriously. If the past has taught me anything: they’re probably making an understatement. So expect GET to spread its wings in many regions around the world and take the ticketing world by a storm!
Staking & nodes GET’s blockchain developer Kasper Keunen has announced that a staking model is being developed. This means that you’ll be able to stake your GET. In return a portion of the ticketing fee will be rewarded to those stakers and nodes. So see it as a passive income. You sit down, relax and see it grow exponentionally as GET conquers the ticketing world :)
The end goal is to be an open source protocol The endgoal of the GET protocol is to become open source. There will be a governance model where changes to the protocol will be determined by GET token holders. That’s why I expect ticketing companies to acquire a lot of GET in time as their revenue relies on the direction of the protocol. GET will have a role as governance for the project as a whole. Such a role for the token is the most natural in a fully open-sourced environment of the protocol(currently not the case, yet). As then governance by stakeholders (ticketing companies) with a serious stake in the game as their ticketing revenue relies on the direction/quality of the code to be on point. As of yet, we do not really assign too much fundamental value to this role for the token (we barely mentioned it actually) as it is still a bit early for it to have serious merit. So pushing that value of the token now would be a bit false advertising. As we onboard more and more ticketing companies we will develop the governance of the token role more and more!
Why the GET token is set to explode Now that I’ve covered what the GET protocol is and where it’s going, it’s time to dig deeper in the token. And I have to say that I’ve never been more bullish on anything in my life. This for the simple reason that usage will drive the price to insanely high levels (where speculation isn’t even needed).
Tokenomics As mentioned above: to have full transparency and accountability (both missing links to make the ticket industry fraud- and scalpfree) all tickets sold are registered on blockchain. You can compare GET to a gas that is needed to fuel the protocol (every state change of the ticket needs to be registered — for which GET is needed). So for every ticket sold GET is bought back from the open market and burned forever.
A single state change cost €0,07 in Q1 2020
There are minimum 4 state changes per ticket
This means that a minimum of €0,28 worth of GET is needed for every ticket sold
In Q1 of 2020 107 059 GET were burned (proof of burn: ");
It is projected that at least 50% of all GET will be burned by 2022
At the moment of writing €161.944 worth of GET have been bought from the exchanges and burned forever (all triggered by adoption and ticketing companies needing the token).
GET’s valuation in the (near) future Bear in mind that this is my own expectation, based on big changes in supply and demand that I will try to explain below. Also keep in mind that I’m not a financial advisor and nothing is guaranteed in the crypto space! But I will try to explain why I personally believe that GET will be trading at 10€ per token and more in the near future. As time goes on and more tickets are sold, the demand for GET will keep increasing while the supply will keep decreasing. You don’t need to have a PhD in economics to understand what this will do to the price!
What kind of demand/buybacks can we expect? As explained above: for every ticket sold at least €0,28 worth of GET is needed by the ticketing companies. Most of this GET is bought back from the exchanges (the money to do this is included in the ticket fee). Some GET is supplied by the “user growth fund”. This is a fund created to give potential new customers a discount. This is done by subsidizing them a portion of their need for GET so these new customers don’t need to pay the full price immediately. Bear in mind that as time goes by this fund will dry up and all the GET that is needed will from that moment on be bought from the exchanges. Since the buybacks are based on the amount of tickets issued by the protocol, to calculate what kind of buybacks we can expect in the future we need to look at the ticket sales. As mentioned before there are 4 ticketing companies using the protocol right now (GUTS, ITIX, TecTix and getTicket). Below I will make an estimation of what to expect from them. GUTS has sold over 400k tickets. From just the deals already signed, over a million tickets would have been sold in 2020. Due to Covid19 most events had to be posponed (not cancelled). In the meanwhile the GUTS sales team hasn’t been idle and has atracted many more customers. This means that the 1 million tickets number is probably even on the low side. But let’s say a minimum of 1 million tickets will be sold the first year where all events will be allowed again. This means that at least €280.000 worth of GET will be needed in that year. ITIX sells 2 million tickets a year on average. Once fully integrated they will thus need at least €560.000 worth of GET on a yearly basis. TecTix, as a new ticketing company, it’s hard to predict what kind of numbers they’ll be running at the start. But given the expertise of the TecTix team I think 200.000 tickets is a safe bet to start with. That would put us on at last €56.000 worth of GET needed/year. And finally getTicket, a ticketing company based in South Korea. In their case it’s also difficult to make a prediction because they’re new and we have no previous data to rely on. But judging from the comments made by the team that “everything is bigger in Korea” and that they’ll be selling stadium concerts for K-pop stars (just one concerts can mean over 100.000 tickets sold) I think it’s safe to say that they’ll be selling at least 1 million tickets/year. That would bring their need for GET to at least €280.000 a year. So if we put this together the 4 ticketing companies will need over € 1 million worth of GET on a yearly basis. Bear in mind that more ticketing companies will keep joining and the existing ticketing companies will keep growing, taking away marketshare from ticketing companies that can’t offer all of the advantages mentioned before. Based on all of this I, pesonally, would say that €5 million/year in GET buybacks by 2023 is not an unreasonable prediction.
What can we expect from GET’s supply? Demand for a token means nothing if the supply is unlimited. The best example of the importance of the supply is the recent Bitcoin halvening that got everyone excited. Before the halvening around 1800 BTC were mined every day. Let’s say that at current prices this was around $16 million worth of BTC per day. The miners obviously have to sell a large portion of this to cover their costs. So even if there are no other sellers, a large number of BTC has to be bought from the market every day just to keep status quo of the current price. Halvening basically means that the speed at which the supply increases will be halved (900 BTC mined on a daily basis instead of 1800). The supply of BTC will still continue to increase, only at a slower tempo. Scarcity should be the ultimate goal when investing in utility tokens. With GET’s utility token things are different: every GET bought by a ticketing company will be burned. Contrary to BTC the supply of GET will thus continue to decrease as time goes on, removing the stacks of those eager to sell. This is not a dig at Bitcoin by the way as I’m a fan. Just highlighting the advantage an adopted utility token with good tokenomics has over “the king”. I hope you now understand my expectation that the price will explode. Many holders will obviously not be willing to sell at current prices with such an increasing demand. As the price is determined by many factors and we don’t know what the price will do exactly, it’s not possible to pin down the exact supply in the future. We do know that it will keep decreasing at a swift tempo unless the price goes parabolic.
Finding the equilibrum for the price The demand for GET will keep increasing through adoption and the supply decreasing as the used GET are destroyed forever The equilibrium price and equilibrium quantity occur where the supply and demand curves cross. The equilibrium occurs where the quantity demanded is equal to the quantity supplied. If the demand increases and the supply decreases then the price will rise until it finds a new equilibrium. Putting a correct marketcap valuation on a crypto project is an extremely difficult task. With traditional companies we can for example rely on the revenue, profit, dividend payments, … to estimate what the company is/should be worth. In most countries a 5% rental yield is considered a good investment. Of course it’s not fully comparable as these buybacks don’t automatically put money on your account. But they do increase the price and destroy the supply. So I think it’s in a way reasonable to extrapolate this 5% yield to our case. Having explained why I expect atleast €5 million in yearly buybacks by 2023, that would mean the marketcap should be around €100 million (5% = the buyback of €5 million multiplied by 20). The current circulating supply of GET is around 13,5 million. The expectation is that the burning mechanism will destroy more than half of that by 2023 (this takes into account an increasing price of the GET token). So let’s round it up to 5 million GET remaining. A marketcap of €100 million with a supply of 5 million GET would mean a price of €20/GET. This would be an increase of 6566.67%. Of course these numbers are not set in stone and merely a prediction but if you’ve been reading this blog you have come to understand why I am extremely bullish on the GET token. I have completely taken the speculation factor or an “altseason” or “fomo” out of the equation and only focused on a price increase driven by an increasing demand and decreasing supply! So the focus is on an organic price growth. Another great thing about holding a token with mass adoption and guaranteed buybacks is that I don’t have to worry about the price. As the buybacks are a guaranteed thing, the lower the price of GET the more GET is bought back and destroyed forever. So even a price decrease, as contradictory as it may sound, is bullish for longterm holders!
Overheating laptop, I've considered reapplying new thermal paste, need opinions
First time considering this kind of thing, I have a ge62vr (owned for 4 years) and I noticed in the last few weeks that my laptop has been soaring in temps whenever I run twitch, youtube, or surf the internet in general. As you can see from CPUID, that my max temps were when I was running just 1 youtube video. My current temp is from me running on turboboosted fans for about an hour while typing out this post with no youtube or twitch running https://i.imgur.com/YKvMEdN.png I have it hooked up to a ASUS 248qe and I extend the laptop monitor as well. So 2 monitors running. Things I have tried: -Reenabling GPU acceleration on chrome, thought it fixed the issue because my laptop was running fine after that but started to recently become hot again. -heavily reducing my chrome usage, seems to only work sometimes. If I start clicking on a youtube/twitch tab, temps will start to rise rapidly again. -checked for dust, didn't see any clogging up my laptop, -checked if my fans were working, they both are -did a malwarebytes virus scan in case I had any fancy bitcoin miners that hide themselves whenever I open task manager, TBH not sure if I did this thoroughly, apparently you need to monitor incoming and outgoing connections to see if your computer is sending information somewhere strange. Which I haven't done. -uninstalled bloatware, heavily cutdown on the amount of startup apps that run on boot. -disabling my extended monitor. no difference. Doesn't matter anyway, I've run perfectly cool before while surfing the internet using both monitors. -all my drivers are updated -checked for corrupted windows files, no issues -checked chrome's task manager to see what's killing my cpu/gpu, which is nothing, my gpu and cpu utilization is low and usually stays low about 85% of the time (20% utilization more or less) I'm using it. I've manually frozen tabs I don't use that are heavy (relatively speaking) in resources. Still randomly get elevated temps doing nothing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Other things I should mention is that I used to have a cooling pad but it recently died, I'm thinking the issue could be that I'm simply in a hot room (78 degrees), weather will be cooling down for the coming week so I'll see if that changes anything. But it doesn't explain why sometimes I'm able to run my laptop cool while watching twitch, listening to music on youtube, while using blender and only be in the high 60s- mid 70s while in a 78 deg room. Another thing is that I bought a wireless Sennheiser headset a while back which initially didn't cause any problems. But in the recent weeks has started predictably disconnecting 5 minutes after usage and reconnecting on its own. I ran into some odd driver issues with it where it would freeze my laptop for 15 minutes if I tried to access the device in the audio properties panel. And since I got it, booting up my laptop takes 10-15mins rather than instantly like it used to. What's throwing me off is that sometimes I can use my laptop in its full capacity, (chrome, twitch, youtube, blender, dual monitors, etc) and be fine in temps, and sometimes even doing nothing will run up my laptop to 80c+ and stay there even when I run the turbo boost fan option. It's almost like there's malware running in the background that I can't detect and chooses to run during random times in the day. Not really sure where I should go from here, I'm thinking about reapplying thermal paste. A lot of people online have said they've had massive success with using liquid metal but I know that it's very risky, that you have to reapply it a year after because of some scientific mumbo jumbo about metals bonding, and could not be a good solution for me considering I plan to buy a PC in about a year. I feel like selling an older laptop that will have to have its thermal paste reapplied could make it harder to sell. Are there any suggestions for non-liquid metal pastes that can achieve pretty good cooling results that I won't have to reapply after a year? Doesn't have to be -20c across the board, but it'd be nice if watching twitch or youtube didn't rachet my laptop up to 90c+ Or do you guys feel this is an issue entirely separate from thermal paste?
OK. I'll try and do this one by the numbers: System: Desktop PC. i7 series CPU, AIO liquid cooler. Windows 7, upgraded to win 10, dual boots into Linux. 32 Gb ram and an nVidia 1080 GPU. Coolermaster case. Problem: GPU temp rises to 100 degrees where it stays, thermally throttling the processor and eventually turning off the PC. Problem occurs in normal use. Temperature is just about stable when the system is idle, but almost any app pushes the CPU temperature higher. This is a new development: this same system has been running fine up until a few days ago. The problems started after I messed up an ENB install for Skyrim. I intended to upgrade the ENBSeries plugin and stupidly installed the oldest available version rather than the most recent. That put a lot of stress on the system, and now the system overheats even without any game running. The problem also seems to happen in Linux. I have a dual boot system, and while I haven't got the Linux side set up for precise temperature monitoring, the fans run full-on and the machine runs slow even in Linux. So it's probably not a purely software issue. I've monitored the temperature with HWMonitor and Speccy and the CPU is the affected component. Everything else seems to be within acceptable levels. Tried so far: Cleaned the fans and got the dust out of the case. Upgraded OS to Window 10 (mainly in the hopes that being able to use all that memory would help, after finding out that Win7 Home only used 8gb). Booted into Linux and run a virus check. Found and quarantined a couple of bitcoin-miner trojans (but I don't think that's the whole story because the machine is also slow and hot under Linux). Yet to try: Taking the radiator out of the case and checking it. (I have blown compressed air through the thing from both sides). Verifying that the cooler pump is working. I also haven't yet tried manually setting all the fans tp 100% to see what's working, mainly because I don't yet know how. I'm also not sure the radiator fans are working. I can feel an air flow from the top of the case but it's nothing like the case fan (which is generally running at maximum) and it could well be explained by the case fans moving air around inside the case. At this point I suspect that something has broken in the water cooler system. I'm not sure how to diagnose that or fix it, so advice would be welcome. I'm happy to take the system to the local repair shop, but I'd like to know what the issue is a bit more clearly first. There is also, probably, a malware issue. Again, this is probably a recent thing, but passed me by entirely until I upgraded to Windows 10, so it could have been there for some time. Unfortunately, attempts to do a proper system scan are being impeded by the fact that I have a fairly short window before the system heats up to the point where nothing really happens. That's all I can think of, offhand. Advice on the cooling issue and the malware side of it would be very welcome.
Prior to 2017, Garena has been using Garena+ as a sort of launcher hub for all their games (LoL, HoN, etc.), so you have to log-in to garena then look for your game click it and launch/update it from there. But in 2017 they decide to shift to a new launcher called Garena2.0. They still supported the old Garena+ launcher until around late 2017, but after that they made updating the game impossible unless you were using Garena2.0. So you uninstall g+ and go to 2.0 Garena2.0 has been filled with bugs since the beginning, and Garena isn't even trying to fix them. Whenever you open the 2.0 launcher, it will immediately take up all bandwidth downloading something (I have no idea what it is), even when your client and games are all updated. When you try to update your game, garena will give you an arbitrary progress bar, at 10% it will say "optimizing resources", at this point bandwidth throttles, and it stays at optimizing resources for about 30 minutes. Here's the fun part about this, let's say your dl speed is 3mb/s. Only 1.5mb/s is going to downloading the patch, the other 1.5mb/s is garena downloading something (something I don't know again). Okay, so you get past the first 30 minutes of optimizing resources, only half of your speed goes to downloading the patch, and the other half to god knows where. It will download pretty normally until 25%, where they'll tell you garena2.0 was unable to fetch the patch, so it'll ask you to either cancel patching and dont play the game, or download the unzipped patch. So normally, patches are like 600mb or so, but this unzipped patch is about a few gigs in my experience. that may not be much for most of you, but internet is pretty shitty in asia compared to the west. Plus the fact that only half my bandwidth goes to downloading? I can leave it downloading at 2 in the morning, and I can come back after my classes at 5 in the afternoon and it's still not done. So normally, a patch can take a day to download properly. The best part is Garena has been deleting forum posts regarding these issues, because fuck you. And before, someone brings it up, if you think my g2.0 is/has a virus, probably. But I got my launcher from their site. And I've been experiencing this since around nov 2017, and I did a clean wipe of my computer and redownloaded g2.0 from their site in january 2018. So fuck me sideways amirite? EDIT 1: so I just woke up to this, it kinda blew up, I'll make another edit in a few minutes when I properly wake up. I'll try to answer (with my experience) some concerns raised in the thread. EDIT2: wall of text
What is this kernel mode driver people are talking about???
At around March-April of 2017, some guys found that garena was placing a kernel mode driver in computers that install it (Garena). " this Kernel mode driver has highest level of access to your computer," understates the possibility of this. With this KMD, Garena could potentially, access your computer from anywhere, log all your keystrokes, force a shutdown, etcetc. It's essentially a virus just waiting for Garena's orders. But aren't all viruses like that? Eh probably. Why didn't I include this in my post? I didn't experience this in my G+ installation back then, so I just didn't include it. As for now however, I have no idea, I have not checked. KMD link here
Is Garena a crypto miner?
Probably not, when I launch G2.0, my Cpu and GPU utilization rises by 8% and 2% respectively. Internet bandwidth is maximized though. Looking at the nominal increases I think we can all agree that having a million computers running at less than 10% capacity for mining is inefficient and the returns would be meaningless for a company like Garena. What I mean is, financially the gain that garena gets from selling the bitcoin they get from 10% utilization systems would be pretty meaningless in terms of their entire financials. But hey, if you have a KMD, you can just make it so that cpu and gpu measures will return 5% utilization right?
What is GarenaPlatform and what don't you just turn it off.
The beautiful thing about G2.0, is it split the old systems of G+, which was only one process, into like 4 or so. One of these is Garenaplatform, which is essentially the launcher itself. I use essentially here, as it isn't really the launcher, but its a prerequisite for the process of the launcher, without it the launcher wouldn't even startup. And when you startup Gplatform, you have to give it access to make changes in your harddrive, so yeah, fuck you. You can't turn it off, because don't play the fucking game.
Why not change regions?
I live in Southeast Asia, the closest countries with non-Garena owned servers are OCE, JP, KR (I think). I'm lucky to know how to read write and speak japanese so I can play in JP right? Yeah sure, if I'm okay with play on ~500 ping stable. Moving from 20-500 is literally unplayable. I would imagine OCE is around the same. KR is kinda hard to check since you need a Korean phone number to sign up, so I have no idea how to check my ping there.
Why is Garena there?/Is garena really the only distributor for lol there?/why is rito not doing anything?
Many south east asian governments have made it really hard for foreigners to open up businesses here. They have things such as a certain percentage of share holdings have to be owned by a citizen of that country, or higher tax percentages for foreign owned companies, and many other legal shits. It just doesn't make financial sense for Riot to be the distributors in SEA, they'll make money sure. But the amount of money you make in relation to the stress (of governments and the ecosystem of the countries) and the work you have to put in, probably isn't worth it according to Riot's estimates. Garena has established a monopoly on game distribution in SEA (if we dont take into account Steam, but Steam is like, don't even bother). There is literally no other company that can distribute the game. Riot isn't doing anything, because Tencent owns rito and garena. So it isnt that garena is under rito because theyre publishing the game they made, but they're more like sister companies now. For riot to do something, they have to look up to tencent, and tencent to look down to garena. Not happening.
Garena didn't change loot rate on (the last patch)
yeah, fuck you I guess. I've gotten 60+ 400BE shards (or whatever the lowest tier is) since the new system and got like 5 of the highest.
Garena doesn't even have good infrastructure for its events
Yeah, every year they try to make this big event that's supposed to be a year end tournament thing for every region. Every fucking year, the venue they get is too small for the amount of people that come in/tickets they sell. Literally, please fire whoever is running your events programs and planning. Now, I don't watch their streams (like the local LCS, or whatever garena calls it), so I can't talk about that.
On nepotism and garena hiring "morons"
Yeah, you basically have infinite power in garena if you know a GM (they're like mods). GMs will ban whoever the fuck tries to destroy this image of garena being an all beautiful, can-do-no-wrong company. Also if you give them a name, they'll ban that name on the spot. Here's the fun part, they ban whomever their friends say, but not actually toxic people. OF course there's an overlap between the two somewhere, but that fact that GMs ban on account that family/friends telling them is, oh boi, fun. Then again, what do you expect? Garena only pays minimum wage to its workers, about a small increase for (local) top management (idk about actual TOP management). Even when they make millions a month. Can't really expect the employees to work harder than now.
Servers randomly die for long intervals.
Yeah, it happens. Not as often as back then, but it still happens. It happened last month, servers died for like an entire day, because of a TF bug or some shit. Unlike Riot, garena doesn't give like compensation for downtimes. I really don't care. But I guess it looks bad when the other company does and you dont.
Garena has a built in live chat
I actually have no qualms about the live chat. I used it waaaaaaay back then, from like 2013-2015. I had no issues then. Idk about now, since they moved to g2.0, I've been using other things. But yeah, there is a button for the support team. It's just a button, no one is there ever.
Just use manual patch you fucking retard.
I did use manual patch for the most recent patch. I applied the patch properly, and yes, I did apply it properly I followed the instructions on their site, and the shit I saw on my monitor was the same as in their site. I open up g2.0 after the manual patch, yup, still need to update haha what a jokester gotem
Garena doesn't allow API.
Yeah, they have this mobile app that essentially works like opgg. I say essentially, since it doens't really work. I don't use it, so Idk.
I thought we were talking about the champion Garen
We'll have a seperate post for that. But I can't really check rn, SINCE LEAGUE IS UNPLAYABLE
Levi went to NA to escape G2.0
honestly, this is probably true. Good for him.
yeah garena doesnt do shit about what is otherwise punishable behavior. But you soil the name of garena you will be banned on sight, like pre-freedom Tyler1
What is garena?
just imagine steam, but shitty. I mean, really shitty.
Why dont we reverse engineer garena and update/make it opensource so we can patch/play without it.
You need to be logged in to garena to log in to the lol servers. So you only have one login id for garena and the game itself. The very game launcher itself is modified so that you don't type your id/pass when the client opens. The lol client connects to your g2.0 and uses the same credentials for your lol login. So without garena, you're not connecting to the lol servers
Is garena mordekaiser?
they should honestly just make a garena mordekaiser skin
I fail to understand why riot keeps allowing garena to ruin their reputation.
50 percent of something is bettern than a hundred percent of nothing. $$$$. refer to the answer above why garena is the only disributor in SEA and why rito does nothing Why does league need to be launched by Garena anyways? Did Riot sell the rights to Garena or something? Why would they even do that? Riot, before they were bought out by tencent, licensed the game to garena for publishing in the SEA region. refer to the answer above why garena is the only disributor in SEA and why rito does nothing.
is Garena a real server, that's my question
its more like a concentration camp
Does garena block you from playing in other regions? are you isp blocked?
Actually no, I can play in NA, EU, JP, OCE, KR (technically) to name a few. IF I can stomach moving from 20 ping to ~500+, sure.
What if ur computer is just shit specs hurhur potato
I have an i5 8400, and a 1070. Which is pretty potato by today's standards. Maybe I should upgrade. yeah.
Have you tried reinstalling?
yes, same problems. I did a clean wipe of my computer to redl everything early january 2018. same problems persisted End of wall of text EDIT 3 Another redditor messaged me about what Garena was downloading in the background on startup. Apparently every time the client needs an update, it redownloads all of the files it needs to function. Instead of only downloading the changes that the update brings, it redownloads even the things that were unchanged. So if you look into your garena folder there are a bunch of "2.0.xxxx.xxxx" folders with the same files. These folders are the different version of g2.0 that you've downloaded. So let's say I'm on G2.0 build 1.0.0, everything is working fine, very good, the contents of this build are packets A, B, C and D. However garena rolls out G2.0 build 1.0.1, because they needed to add an image asset. A reasonable person would tell you, well, just download the image asset then apply it to the install folder. No, Garena, makes you redownload packet A,B,C and D, and then the image asset. So you're left with 2 copies of packet ABC and D. It feels like garena is trying to beat riots meme of being an indie company. Holy shit. A five year old that knows how to code can make something better.

This is the summary for February AMA. We welcome any questions, comments, and suggestions. Q1: The Bitcoin halving is taking place this year. How do you expect this to affect the entire blockchain industry? What role will QuarkChain play in the industry? The Bitcoin halving is a major event in 2020 and we believe this event may have significant impacts. Technically speaking, this means every block reward is reduced from 12.5 BTC to 6.25 BTC, and the inflation rate is also halved. As a result, firstly, the inflation rate will be below 2%, which means the rate is close to that of gold. Secondly, the selling power from miners is also halved. While as cryptocurrency and blockchain become more popular, more people may be more likely to own BTC. From the perspective of the market, BTC has become a hedging asset against risks since there are not many global assets that have a good story as well as good liquidity. There are two main factors influencing the price of BTC: namely the manufacturer of mining machines and the Wall Street. As long as selling mining machines is still making a profit while the global economy is still thriving decently, the value of BTC will maintain its level. So I think that the market will view the halving this time around in a more optimistic light. BTC is rather out of sync with other blockchain projects because its financial nature far outstrips its technical nature. We can compare BTC to gold while other projects are more comparable to technology companies who focus on technological applications and innovations. Another question is what halving signifies for our QuarkChain team. Since 2018, QuarkChain has been focused on inventing a faster and more convenient public chain. Since the launch of mainnet, our product has evolved to become a framework like Polkadot and Cosmos that enable launching a chain with one click and provide cross-chain framework consensus. During our Stanford 2020 meeting last week, we further proposed the idea of a “quark family” whereby one can adopt this sharding layer framework on public chains. If this concept is applied to consortium blockchain, then it becomes “quark-union.” Such framework can be applied in other scenarios and interoperate for other use cases and provide a plethora of choices for users, which is our target goal this year. In the middle of the year, we will announce the next product developed specifically for this framework, which functions like Polkadot’s Substrate framework that allows developers to build products as parachains. Please follow us to learn more! In general, I think this is really good news for the whole cryptocurrency world! Q2: The Chinese market pays more attention to the consortium blockchain. Will this affect QuarkChain? Will the team consider joining the consortium blockchain? One of our goals is to broadcast our QuarkChain technologies to more people around the world, and we are happy to see that not only can our technology be applied to the public chain space, but also to the consortium blockchain space!! Secondly, it is also natural to extend the public chain technology to the consortium one, where Ethereum has EEA, and JP Morgan is also working on Quorum, which is the consortium version of geth. With the Chinese government’s support of this domain, I think it is a very good opportunity for QuarkChain to participate in the market and meet the needs in the consortium blockchain space. We will soon announce the new products in the area soon! Q3: The QuarkChain team attended the Stanford Blockchain Conference recently. Are there any differences between the direction of exploration in 2020 and in 2019? Did you find any new or interesting ideas? A lot of interesting things happened during the Stanford Blockchain Conference. I also discussed with several people, including Vitalk and Professor David Tse about their works. We discussed some details about their proposal in the extreme case such as network partition and asked more details in how Lamport’s BFT algorithm’s relationship with his proposal. First of all, I found there is a rapidly rising interest from academia to enter into the blockchain space, including professors from renowned universities such as Stanford, UIUC, and Cornell. Secondly, I found more and more people are taking serious considerations into practical problems such as scalability and security. For example, Vitalik gave a talk about 51% attack and how to avoid that; people are working on both vertical and horizontal scalability. Of course, Facebook Libra also presented their blockchain. We are watching these technologies closely and are looking forward to seeing its development, which will guide our future growth as well! Q4: QKC held a meetup yesterday and you talked about what the future of blockchain looks like and topics related to business. Can you give us a brief summary about the discussion? How can QuarkChain be applied in the real world? Any use cases? We delivered a speech titled “What The Future Blockchain Looks Like to Empower Business.” Looking back, the early days of blockchains were chasing after pure technical breakthroughs with little considerations for practical business needs. This is related to what we talked about also at the year-end review: after TPS, what else can blockchains propose? One of the big trends that we see is that, typical major business applications rely on both consortium blockchain and public chains. Even for Facebook Libra, it starts with consortium blockchain and then will move onto public chains. From a business perspective, the space is looking for a more comprehensive solution that allows seamless communication between consortium blockchain and public chains altogether. The Boson consensus is the paper we published during the world-class 2019 IEEE conference. It is the sharding infrastructure framework that we have been referring to since day 1, which is analogous to the Substrate framework from Polkadot. We have applied this framework to implement QuarkChain, as you are all familiar with it by now. We are now applying the same framework onto consortium blockchain to allow different enterprises to define different chains based on their own business requirements and also create plug-ins to interact with other chains such as IBM Hyperledger, Ant Financial blockchain, WeBank, and so on. With the great efforts of our BD team, we are working on some use cases with our important partners. One direction we believe is to speed up financial processing using blockchain in the enterprise space. For instance, with immunity and transparency, we could facilitate regulated financing and circulation of assets more easily. Imagine DeFi in consortium! As I mentioned before, we are building the consortium version of QuarkChain, and actually, the first version of the product is almost ready and is under testing. Q5: What does your roadmap for 2020 look like? Name some important milestones you hope to achieve. What are the major developments lined up for QuarkChain this quarter? In 2020 H1, we plan to fully support our native token to enable DeFi composability. We would like to make the token more user-friendly as well. Actually, ETH2.0 is targeting native tokens for a while, and we also have a long conversation with ETH. While ETH2.0 is still planning and designing the feature, our goal is to fully support ETH 2.0 in 2020 — probably the first blockchain that enables all these! For the second half of the year, we are still looking into several areas, namely privacy, heterogenous chain, and new consensus mechanism. We also would like to learn from the community to see what the best idea may be. Please check more details here: https://ethresear.ch/t/cross-shard-defi-composability/6268/23 https://ethresear.ch/t/moving-eth-between-shards-the-problem-statement/6597 Q6: In the past years, we all said ZIL was your biggest competitor, but the fact is we did not see too many updates from them. So who is your current strongest competitor? How do you stand out from your competition? Actually, in this growing new area, we learned tremendously from different projects in sharding, multi-chain area: ETH2.0, Polkadot, Cosmos, and ZIL. And for us, our idea is quite simple — to achieve our goal with using all technologies from us and also from others. We also interacted with the blockchain communities actively so that we could jointly contribute to the blockchain space. This philosophy explains why we have an active presence in different projects such as ETH and Libra. Our technology, the Boson consensus, is the key for us to differentiate from others. Even better, the Boson consensus is designed to be flexible, and thus is able to incorporate a lot of novel ideas! To my knowledge, this flexibility can hardly be found for other blockchains. Unless other projects decide to follow us someday, I think we should have plenty of space to stand out! Q7: What are your future plans for the developer community? We just started our bounty program for supporting native token auction — an important part for multi-native token support. This means many dApps on ETH can be rewritten and enjoy the benefits of the multi-native tokens, and we will have demos and programs to educate the public. Q8: QKC technology is at the forefront of the industry. What are its strategies in market expansion? How are you planning to take over more market share in 2020? We need to acknowledge that the speculation is widespread across the entire market, similar to what was observed during the early days of the stock market. As we can see now, the era of speculation and fast money is fading away. What we observed in the US stock market for the last decade is that the out-performers are no mere speculation but outstanding technology companies who keep innovating themselves. To adapt to this shift of culture, we now align the overall marketing strategy to branding. What this signifies is that besides telling people the acronym of QuarkChain, we should let other people know more about the details of QuarkChain and the recent updates of our team. What we will do in the future is to share more quality in-depth contents which vary in format but are easily readable. We would like to intrigue more people by experimenting with different forms of data visualization. We also want to step onto different school campuses for technical sharing sessions and have first-hand engagement for technology enthusiasts and gain their recognition. From there, we will then carry out more public advertisements. Because of the outbreak of virus, we will develop more online activities to enable more people to participate free of physical constraints. Q9: Why do we see less interactions from the team recently? How are the team members faring? Can you work on developing the Chinese community in 2020? Someone messaged me offline wondering why I appeared in the group less often recently. I actually am still with QuarkChain and have been working on various projects in great depth. For example, I was lecturing MBA classes and summarized how blockchain can step out from its current bottlenecks. Some also discovered that they were no longer able to private chat with me. As I have explained before, such a decision was made on the basis of freeing up more of my time from customer services to allow more creative thinking and R&D. I have been paying close attention to the discussion and suggestions within the group chat. I am also in consultation with Yufeng and Daisy for the latest news within the group chat as well. Our team is doing well with more technologies underway. We are landing more business applications and are shifting our marketing focus from operations to branding. We will continue to update our latest developments so stay tuned! About the community, we aim not just to grow only the Chinese one but around the world. You may understand the idea of developing a community in a different sense than I do. As I might have mentioned before, for the past two years, blockchain was highly speculative and some projects only wished to boost the number of followers with little maintenance of the community. Since the days of speculation are gone, developing a community is no longer just counting heads but providing contents of added values and spreading the awareness of these quality contents to more people. This is also why I appeared less in the chat but have published more in-depth articles over the past few months. Q10: What are the latest updates in terms of business developments? Who are some of your latest business partners? Let me first talk about the potential effects of the COVID-19 outbreak. Its ramification is of global scale; interestingly, it has an accelerating effect for blockchains since people came to realize that after thrifting on big data and large-scale IT systems, these white elephants did little to present timely, effective, and accurate data. Such inefficiencies have created tremendous challenges for public administration and blockchain is the perfect solution to fill this vacuum. When it comes to commercialization, as an early entrant, we are happy to share some initial progress with our supporters. Firstly, related to government affairs, we have business use cases for large business enterprises and governments regarding data management, public governance, and public services. Secondly, targeting this outbreak, we have proposed a comprehensive 2G solution using blockchain and are in close communications with the government. Lastly, in terms of management of public assets and finance, we have made some significant attempts to manage assets that were previously overlooked and were unable for financing. Our approach may be used to create financial products for circulation. Let me give you a concrete example in factory monitoring. During production, with the automated and trustless production of data, the discharge data from the factory will become more reliable. Environment department can then use discharge data collected from automatic devices with little worry that factories have tampered with the data for the sake of avoiding penalties.
Vertcoin was created in 2014. It is a direct hedge against long term mining consensus centralization on the Bitcoin mining network. Vertcoin achieves its mining consensus solely through Graphics Cards as they are the most abundant / widely available consensus devices that produce a reasonable amount of hashrate. This is done using a mining algorithm that deliberately geared against devices like ASICs, FPGAs and CPUs (due to botnets) making them extremely inefficient. Consensus distribution over time is the most important aspect of a blockchain and should not be taken lightly. It is critical that you understand what blockchain specifications mean/do to fully understand Vertcoin.
When users of our network send each other Vertcoin, their transactions are secured by a process called mining. Miners will compose a so-called block out of the pending transactions, and need to perform a large number of computations called hashes in order to produce the Proof-of-Work. With this Proof-of-Work, the block is accepted by the network and the transactions in it become confirmed. Mining is essentially a race. Whoever finds a valid Proof-of-Work and gets the block propagated over more than half of the Vertcoin network first, wins this race and is allowed to reward themselves with the block reward. The block reward is how new Vertcoin come in circulation. This block reward started at 50 VTC when Vertcoin was launched, and halves every four years. The current block reward is 25 VTC. Vertcoin's One Click Miner: https://github.com/vertcoin-project/One-Click-Minereleases Learn more about mining here: https://vertcoin.org/mine/ Specification List: · Launch date: Jan 11, 2014 · Proof-Of-Work (Consensus Mechanism) · Total Supply: 84,000,000 Vertcoin · Preferred Consensus Device: GPU · Mining Algorithm: Lyra2REv3 (Made by Vertcoin) · Blocktime: 2.5 minutes · SegWit: Activated · Difficulty Adjustment Algorithm: Kimoto Gravity Well (Every Block) · Block Halving: 4 year interval · Initial Block Reward: 50 coins · Current Block Reward: 25 coin More spec information can be found here: https://vertcoin.org/specs-explained/
Why Does Vertcoin Use GPUs Then?
ASIC’s (Manufactuer Monopoly) If mining were just a spade sure, use the most powerful equipment which would be an ASIC. The problem is ASICs are not widely available, and just happen to be controlled by a monopoly in China. So, you want the most widely available tool that produces a fair amount of hashrate, which currently manifests itself as a Graphics Card. CPUs would be great too but unfortunately there are viruses that take over hundreds of thousands of computers called Botnets (they’re almost as bad as ASICs).
Mining In Pools
Because mining is a race, it’s difficult for an individual miner to acquire enough computational power to win this race solo. Therefore there’s a concept called pool-mining. With pool-mining, miners cooperate in finding the correct Proof-of-Work for the block, and share the block reward based on the work contributed. The amount of work contributed is measured in so-called shares. Finding the Proof-of-Work for a share is much easier than finding it for a block, and when the cooperating miners find the Proof-of-Work for the block, they distribute the reward based on the number of shares each miner found. Vertcoin always recommends using P2Pool to keep mining as decentralized as possible. How Do I Get Started? If you want to get started mining, check out the Mine Vertcoin page.
Vertcoin just forked to Lyra2REv3 and we are currently working on Verthash
Verthash is and was under development before we decided to hard fork to Lyra2REv3. While Verthash would’ve resulted in the same effect for ASICs (making them useless for mining Vertcoin), the timeline was incompatible with the desire to get rid of ASICs quickly. Verthash is still under development and tries to address the outsourcability problem. Verthash is an I/O bound algorithm that uses the blockchain data as input to the hashing algorithm. It therefore requires miners to have all the blockchain data available to them, which is currently about 4 GB of data. By making this mining data mandatory, it will become harder for auto profit switching miners — like the ones that rent out their GPU to Nicehash — because they will need to keep a full node running while mining other algorithms for the moment Verthash becomes more profitable — the data needs to be available immediately since updating it can take a while. Over the past month, we have successfully developed a first implementation of Verthash in the Vertcoin Core code base. Within the development team we have run a few nodes on Testnet to test the functionality — and everything seems to work properly. The next step is to build out the GPU miners for AMD and Nvidia. This is a NOETA at the moment, since we’re waiting on GPU developers which are in high demand. Once the miners are ready, we’ll be releasing the Vertcoin 0.15 beta that hardforks the testnet together with the miners for the community to have a testrun. Given the structural difference between Lyra2RE and Verthash, we’ll have to run the testnet for a longer period than we did with the Lyra2REv3 hard fork. We’ll have to make sure the system is reliable before hardforking our mainnet. So the timeline will be longer than with the Lyra2REv3 hard fork. Some people in the community have voiced concerns about the fact that Verthash development is not being done “out in the open”, i.e.: the code commits are not visible on Github. The main two reasons for us to keep our cards to our chest at this stage are: (1) only when the entire system including miners has been coded up can we be sure the system works, we don’t want to release preliminary stuff that doesn’t work or isn’t secure. Also (2) we don’t want to give hardware manufacturers or mining outsourcing platforms a head start on trying to defeat the mechanisms we’ve put in place.
The code is fully open-source so have a look for yourself, I also hope that having made POE Level Buddy at least gives me some credibility.
Ok, then maybe I can trust you then what about any random addon tool maker that can just add viruses / bitcoin miners / ransomware / whatever.
I will ofcourse not just let anyone upload anything they like, I'm only adding tools that are proven to be legit and working. What if they add some bad software post-release?
I ofcourse can't guarantee what anyone does with their programs, all I can do is remove the software from our listings, as with everything on the internet, don't just download everything make some effort to understand what you are downloading and what it could do.
Will you allow closed-source addons in PAL? * Right now I will not allow closed-source software in the Official Repositories, once I've released custom repositories as a feature, users could make their own repository with their closed software. So, the only way to get closed software through PAL will be through adding your own repository.
OS and most applications/games are suddenly unbearably slow
Hi all. Suddenly most of my 3D games are really slow (even WoW classic takes 6 minutes to boot up!), as well as software (BattleNet launcher, Steam). Slow as in takes minutes to boot up (compared to seconds normally) as well as hanging up with "not responding" and slow on loading content, and in games I get stutter once they slowly booted up. The entire OS feels sluggish, it's like PC barely manages to run it without bigger hick-ups, but chokes on games. Installation of software seems slow, downloads in chrome are slow to finish (when virus scan is run on them, I guess). Even restarting system is slow, despite it being on SSD. Relatively new build, I'm on a Ryzen 2700 and GTX 1060/GTX 770. I first thought it's a bitcoin miner, but the GPU/CPU usage in task manager is completely normal. Tried benchmarking with CPU-Z thinking something wrong with CPU, it performed alright. Power settings are on performance what I can see. HDD/SSD read/write speed is normal. It feels like the CPU is operating at like 10% capacity, which is barely enough for browsers and some simple games/applications, rest hanging up. What can this possibly be, and how do I go about troubleshooting this? Already tried:
Running anti-virus (Super Anti Spyware/Malwarebytes).
Resetting to an earlier restore point a week ago (not sure if issue wasnt already existing back then tho).
Checking CPU fan for dust buildup.
Creating new user acc, problem persists.
Checking drive health, all fine except for my media dumping drive that I don't care about.
Booting in safe mode feels a bit faster, but can't confirm since no games can run without GPU.
Edit: Solved, seems my overclock settings were at fault.

Hello everyone, As some of you have probably noticed I have been taking the time to try my best to help some of you answer some questions.
However there has been a lot of repeat questions lately so hopefully this will help. I will continue to update this as we go, please check back if you have any questions as I will try to update this frequently
If you have a question you do not see covered please feel free to comment and I'll add it and try to answer it. I have added a unresolved to the beginning of this FAQ. I will number them below. Please comment below with the answer, to help me identify which question you are answering please add. UR#(x) to your comment as well, with x being the number of the unresolved question.
Before we start I will get my disclaimer out of the way. I do not work with/for any of the developers of these programs. I do not have all the answers. Some of these are my best guess, others may be wrong or may have a better solution than the one I give. Please feel free to correct me if this is the case and I will edit as we go.
Set-up We have two text guides here by waffleflops one for awesome miner and one for multi mining pool. We also have a YouTube video guide by razorseal
So which one should I use? It seems like it depends on what you want from the program, Awesome Miner is more like Nicehash in the way it looks but can be a little more complicated. MPM is pretty simple but it has less customization for those not familiar with programming.
NX18: "I find MPM to be better. No stability issues, no funky windows service always running in the background, and it checks MPH for best coin to mine whereas AM checks whattomine.com and they differ significantly sometimes."
MPM also has a minimum dev fee of 10 minutes per day (even if you set donate to 0) whereas AM does not seem to have dev fees. Both I believe have fees included that go to the devs of the miner programs themselves. However these fees for the miner devs will be attached whether you use MPM/AM or solo miner with the miner dev programs anyway.
1. Anyone have solutions on crashing or very low Hashrates in sgminers with AMD GPU's in Awesome Miner? 2. Why is Lyra2Z using only 40% power from my GPU (GTX980ti)? Where/how can it tweak the settings? I believe this is having to do with Awesome Miner 3.I did not see it asked or posted but I am curious if there's a way to bench all gpus. Instead of selecting gpu 0 and benching, waiting until its done and moving on to gpu 1 and so on. I have 8 nvidia gpus, just wondering if there's a way to auto bench all of them in a row so I can walk away and go to bed, be done I'm the middle of the night.
General MPH Questions
1.Hashrate is not the same on my miner as it is on the dashboard? From MPH: "Hashrate showing on site is just an estimated value. Pool doesn't know about miner very much. It just collects certain "shares" which is some piece of hash that satisfies certain conditions. So don't worry, it's all about probability thing. Your hashrate on site can go up and down time to time." There is some luck involved when mining in pools it is like playing the lottery. NiceHash paid at a certain rate because you were not mining coins and getting paid you were getting paid for the hash you are providing.
2. Balances on MPH what are the brackets? The brackets are coins that have not yet been confirmed enough times on the blockchain. Any coins not in brackets have been confirmed.
3. How long will it take for my coins to show up, transfer to and from the exchange, be credited to my auto exchange coin?
I have been seeing a lot of questions about this so I made a flowchart which you can view Here
Short Answer: It depends could be minutes could be days Long Answer: It has to be exchanged first and then placed in auto-exchange balance balance. So you mine coin Coin credited but unconfirmed (this can take time depending on coin) Coin is confirmed and credited for auto exchange. Coin is then placed on exchange. So again has to be transferred and again has to be confirmed but on exchange side. Coin is most likely converted into btc then into auto-exchange coin at exchange. Then auto-exchange coin is sent back to your balance on mph. So again has to be confirmed before appearing. Depending on how fast a coin is confirmed will depend on how fast it appears in your balance. If you stopped mining today it your balance most likely continue to grow over time. However if you continue to mine it should in theory catch up and you will see you balance grow at a semi if not expected rate.
Supplemental:Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding, but this should mean it changes column, not disappears from balance entirely, no? You will not know exact balance until it is sent back over from the exchange. This is because of the fact that you are exchanging the coins against one another. If one coin is up and one is down you could be losing or gaining value depending on the situation. This is why it seems that coins on the exchange disappear without your auto-exchange coins balance going up right away. Reference question 8 for more info
4. What is the best coin to auto-exchange? This depends, just remember BTC has high transaction fees and can take some time to confirm. You will want to have a good amount of BTC before moving to your wallet to minimize the amount you lose to transaction fees. I personally use LTC, it is quick and transaction fees are low compared to BTC but can still be exchanged for fiat on coinbase. At the time of writing this, if you move BTC from MPH you will be charged a $4.96 fee, if you move LTC the fee to move to your wallet is $0.19
5. Can I hold on to certain coins instead of auto-exchanging them? Yes, just go to auto exchange on MPH and switch off the coin you do not want to auto exchange.
6. This dashboard sucks! Why do they not have a one page dashboard? Good news it is in the works, improvements are on the way so no need to keep posting about it!
7. Why is my coin not being exchanged? Two possible reasons A)On balances page it says "coins that don't have enough volume on exchange for a certain amount of time will not be auto exchanged to desired coin. These coins may be sent back as original coin or btc." B)On auto-exchange page. Mph accumulates coins so that they can be efficiently converted at the exchange. If a coins pool has not mined a certain amount it will not be sent over until it reaches the set number. It seems like it is transferred over to the exchange as one large amount instead of small amounts.
8. AwesomeMiner said I was going to make $X.XX dollars and when auto-exchange coins came in I made less than it said! Couple things, do not take to heart the exact number it gives you. It is not exact remember it is like a lottery. Remember your coins at first will trickle in over time but the longer you mine it will begin to average out. Remember you are exchanging coins for you auto-exchange coin this means if there is a decrease or increase between them you could gain more or less. Example if you mine VTC and auto-exchange into LTC. You send VTC to auto-exchange it will most likely be converted into BTC first. If BTC is having a good day that day and has increased in price by 30% and VTC has not grown well that day you will be trading your VTC at a loss. Then this same situation will happen again when converting the BTC to LTC. So again a bit of a lottery you may gain or lose some of your mined coins value depending on the exchange rate between the coins at the time.
9. Add more Cryptonight coins please. They are apparently working on adding new coins like Electroneum.
10. Why can't I auto-exchange BTC? My theory is that it is because BTC is not mined on MPH, remember the coins are sent to the exchange when they hit a certain amount in order to make it efficient. Because BTC is not mined on MPH it would not be efficient to exchange BTC to other coins once it has been credited to your account.
11. Do I need a wallet for each coin I mine? How do I set-up a wallet? No, only the coin(s) you want to get paid in. Click on coins pool on MPH and you will see a wallet option Add the correct address for each coin you want to be paid in, note you cannot use another coins address or you risk losing your coins. For example you should not put your Bitcoin address into your Litecoin wallet address section.
12. My wallet address keeps on changing, do I need to keep updating my wallet address? Take from Coinbase: This is done to protect your privacy, so that a third-party can not view all other transactions associated with your account simply by using a blockchain explorer to look-up an address they know to be yours. All addresses that have been generated for your account will remain associated with your account forever. They are safe to re-use to receive future payments, but for the prior stated reasons, we recommend using a unique address for all transactions.
13.Is there a easy way I can track my Profits/Hashrate/Workers? Yes credit to JaymZZZ Click Here
14. I click on manage wallet from the balances menu and enter my account number, I get the error saying Failed to update your account: Invalid coin address. 5. Can I do anything to make improvements? puch0021:You can use VertMiner (which is what is used by OCM) to increase your hash rate compared to AwesomeMiner's default CCminer. You have to choose it for Lyra instead of CC miner. See: http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/managedsoftware.aspx Download Vertminer and extract software. Go to awesomeminer's options -> managed software -> add new user defined mining software: Type in VertMiner for description, full compatibility mode, and compatible software as CCminer. Everything in the algorithm should be disabled expect Lyra2ReV2 which should be enabled. Double click in under defined command line argument and add lyra2v2 as text. Click ok. Go to profit profiles in awesome miner. Select nvidia GPU and edit. In the mining software list there should be a new VertMiner entry. Check this box to enable it. Then click configure and then under path click browse. Click local. Select the Vertminer folder you previously made. Now whenever lyra is called for, vertminer should be used. If you try to bench mark with this enabled, it will fail but it works for mining. You can then use your mining results to manually edit your profit profile value for Lyra2REv2 (that was otherwise has the old value for ccminer.) On my 1060 it went from 21 to 22.8. Keep in mind vertminer takes 2% dev fees but it still works out to be faster than cc miner. let me know if this was any help! I used one click miners vertminer since it was already installed.
6. Whenever Awesome Miner starts on a new algo and opens new instances of the CLI miner application/s, the window steal the focus from whatever you're doing. Anyone else super annoyed by this? 1. I see a yellow stripe wich says multipoolminer is between 7% and 17% more profitable, which is nice. under this strip I see 2 lines with miner, BTC and Euro. (in my case) which of those btc values end up on your miningpoolhub balance? or both? NX18:" Neither. Those values are best guesses by that script, hence why beside the dollar figure it shows the +/- variance which sometimes is really high like 25%, meaning that scripts best guess could be wrong by that much" It is showing the 2nd best, If it is not the best at the time it will not show that text and just give you the comparison.
